Latest Update: Winner Announced, Sriram is Indian Idol 5 winner, Read Full details.

Indian Idol 5 is down to the 3 three finalists now and it's the time when a tussle for the top spot gets interesting and watchable as ever. On Sunday Baroda girl Bhoomi, Sreeram from Hyderabad and Rakesh from Agra will face the final battlefield. We start with the introductions and excerpts of the chat we had with all three of them along with a background check. May the best be chosen by the viewers!!!

Rakesh Maini from Agra, a 27 year old, is overwhelmed by the people who are supporting him and praying for his success. He has taken to professional singing right after school to support his family and could get through to the prestigious show only in the second attempt. He chronicles his journey so far as the best thing to have happened to him which gave him both name and fame. He says, “People wait for a chance to just get a glimpse of the legends but I got an opportunity to meet and learn music from them, which is like a dream come true.” Further he bows to the public, “I heard that people are performing special pujas at various temples and melas. Banners and hoardings are being put up all over the city. I really don’t know how to thank them.”

But not to forget that he was saved by the judges using their veto power and he's all praises for them. "I am in the finale only because of the judges. I couldn’t believe that they saved me from being evicted out of the show. I am really grateful to them. This shows how much they love and believe in me,” he says.

The additional praise he has is for Sunidhi Chauhan who according to him takes keen interest in contestant's choice of song, lending those tips and supports them in every small way.

May he perform to the best of his abilities and make his supporters proud.

The next in line is the only female contestant to have qualified for the top spot and is a young girl from Baroda, the 21 year old Bhumi Trivedi. The kind of support she is getting from her hometown is amazing and “Every week my parents would come with the some pictures, cards and videos sent by my supporters. I have been staying away from my hometown for the past few months but I always connected with them through my parents,” she says.

She wishes to be a playback singer one day and for that she is planning to stay put in Mumbai like her fellow finalist Sreeram. "I came to Mumbai with a dream of participating in Indian Idol and through my journey I have realized my dream. I aspire to be one of the best singers in the industry," she adds. Bhumi's father loves singing and her mother is a part of a troupe. She was second time lucky in her attempt to get through in Indian Idol and has been singing as a child and later in Navratri events with her mother and her sister.

This talented female finds herself at the advantage of winning the title and tosses the question to the viewers pretty efficiently. She's sure that “I can sing all types of songs," while her versatility has been questioned as her voice is more harmonizing for the Sufiana and Rock forms of music.

“The journey has been beautiful, adventurous and full of surprises" according to the lass and with a bad throat to trouble her It’s a do or die situation with no excuses” for her with "D-day approaching to add to the excitement and anxiety".

This mellifluous lady is all set to prove herself.

Now coming to the last and not the least one to reach the finals, the ever favorite of the judges, celeb judges and the audience alike, is Sreeram Chandra who gets shivers every time a result is declared. The Hyderabad hottie has already sung for Judge Salim Merchant and considers to be privileged by the opportunity."He is one of the best composers in Bollywood. I could not have asked for a better start".

With a music lover Grandpa to encourage him he's called the Nightingale of St Andrews School, as he sang there since childhood only to take professional training when in first year of Engineering.

“Whether I become an Idol or not I will shift my base to Mumbai. I like the hustle and bustle of the city. After coming to Mumbai I have realized the value of time. I don’t like to even waste 10 minutes. I want to really work hard and become a music sensation. I don’t think there is any better place than Mumbai to fulfill my dreams,” says the 24 year old committed to make his mark.

“People liked my singing and that is one of the reasons I have not entered the danger zone even once. That means people are supporting me, right?" comes the reply for southern support and “People from Pakistan and Bangladesh liked my singing and asked how they can vote for me. It’s a big achievement in itself. I am sure if people like your singing they wouldn’t bother whether you are from that particular region or not” says Sreeram who has very well come to realize his mass appeal by now.

So the dark horse performer is unstoppable with continuous support from the judges to filmstars and his southern well-wishers who are tirelessly rooting for him with hoardings and posters all over the place.

The setting of Indian Idol 5 Grand Finale is apt for them to show their talents and go with the flow….whom does the viewer be merciful to is yet to be discovered!!!
