The alleged report by a faction of the media that Tollywood actress Trisha is involved in a drug scandal has left the actress fuming. In a stern reaction to this, the actress said that all that is reported by the media is a concocted untrue story and it's a sheer attempt from an ignoble person to tarnish her image. The actress is planning to file a law suit based on advice given by her lawyer. She reiterated that she is left aghast by the extent to which people can stoop low for publicity by tarnishing images of actors. She opined that the job of an actor is to entertain people and not become a prey of sick minds of some people. She didn't rule out the possibility of an exterior hand and hidden motive behind this act. She is currently a part of the Kamal Hassan project, 'Manmadhan Ambu' of which Kamal Hassan himself is a part and is shooting in on in Kodaikanal. |

The Miss Universe 2010 contest saw for the 3rd time a Latin American name snatched the title in Las Vegas where the contest was being held. The 22 yr old Jimena Navarrete from Guadalajara, Mexico beat her competitors Miss Australia & Miss Jamaica to wear the crown. Miss USA Rima Fakih was ousted from the event and failed to make it to the top3. The contest was a close call between Miss Philippines, Miss Mexico, Miss Jamaica & Miss Australia. The questionnaire round was where many of the contestants failed to impress the judges. Miss USA opposed the Obama decision of having a mosque built in Ground Zero and Miss Philippine wasn't ready with a suitable answer regarding her biggest mistake and how she planned to get it right. Miss Jamaica-the adventurous contestant showed her god-fearing nature when she said no to death penalty explaining that only God had the right to take lives. Miss Mexico was eloquent when asked about the bad effect internet had on kids. "I studied nutrition and I would like everyone to understand that it is not about your looks it is how you feel inside," she said through an interpreter. "And when you feel good inside you look good." Yendi Phillipps, Miss Jamaica bagged the 1st runner up position while Jesinta Campbell, Miss Australia the youngest participant at age 19 was the 2nd runner up. She was followed by Miss Ukraine Anna Poslavska and Miss Philippines Venus Raj. The Miss Universe 2010 contest saw a drop in viewership specially in the USA. The beauty contest seems to have reduced in popularity in its 59th year. This year Bret Michaels the rock star and TV news personality Natalie Morales hosted the event at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. The contest which judges its winner on the basis of good looks and smartness saw for the 2nd time a Mexican winning the title of Miss Universe. Jimena Navarrete in only the 2nd Mexican to get the title after Lupita Jones did in 1991. |
