Bigg Boss 4: Promoting communal harmony and a rock band, a great combo

Posted: 10 Oct 2010 11:12 AM PDT

Bigg Boss, season 4 is facing potential threats because of the involvement of the Pakistani participants but at the same time it is sending out an inspiring message of communal harmony. The evicted inmate, S.G. Abbas Kazmi, ex-lawyer of Ajmal Kasab, the prime convict of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks said, “I really liked the concept of the show.

It is very good that people from different walks of life, age groups, races, castes and countries have been brought together to live under a roof, together as a family,” over phone in Mumbai.

He added that this show gives out a very inspiring message of communal harmony and national integration.

On questioned about the infamous opposition by Shiv Sena along with Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) to extract out the two Pakistani inmates of the Bigg Boss house – model Veena Malik and TV host Ali Saleem popularly known as Begum Nawazish Ali, he quipped that, "”They have their own views. They are probably responding to the hostility shown to our country. But these are totally their views. I can’t say anything”.

He was sacked due to non-cooperation in the Mumbai 26/11 terror attack case the previous year.

The 55-year-old is the first participant to be evicted from the reality show Bigg Boss 4, that is aired on Colors.

“I was back in time for my daughter’s 21st birthday and was able to be with my family when she cut the cake. So why will I have any regrets,” he added.

Talking about his eviction, the lawyer added: “There’s a lot of dirty politics happening inside. Other contestants felt I was a potential winner.”

“I was like a ‘badaa kaanta’ (big thorn) for them, so they plotted and nominated me. I think their strategy is to first get rid of all the strong contestants, and then target the soft and simple ones,” he further said.

Kazmi was an inmate of the Bigg Boss house along with 13 other participants including Devinder Singh aka Superchor Bunty, who was ousted from the show on the first day itself.

Kazmi was really touched by the story of model Aanchal Kumar and Rahul Bhatt, who was in the news for his alleged acquaintance with David Headley, a suspect of the 26/11 attacks.

“Rahul is a very simple, clear-at-heart boy. I will always remember him with fondness. Aanchal was a paradox to a supermodel’s image. She had no tantrums and has her feet completely on the ground,” he said.

But he feels that both of them do not have the ability for surviving too long in a show like this.

“Manoj Tiwari is a strong contestant. He is quite calm and has an immense fan following. In a way, he represents the north Indian community and there is a major craze for him,” Kazmi said.

“Usually in such shows people tend to take pride if someone is from their region, and so I feel the public will send a lot of votes to save Manoj,” he added.

At present, he is thinking back of going back to his normal life back in the court.

In a yet another Bigg Boss news, Salman Khan, the famous host of Bigg Boss season 4 seems to be simply in awe of the potential rock band Underground Authority and has given them an opportunity to be a part of this show.

The rock band will perform on Saturday's "Aakhri Salaam", the part of the reality show dedicated for the evicted participant.

“The appreciation that we received from Salman Khan during our performance in ‘India’s Got Talent Khoj 2′ was overwhelming. It feels great to perform on ‘Bigg Boss 4′,” said a statement released by Underground Authority.

“We are practising day in and day out. We are really charged up to present our talent once again in front of Salman. Hope we will have a gala time performing, as much as the viewers will have watching the show. We are eagerly looking forward to it,” the statement revealed.

This 5-member rock band was an aspiring finalist in the reality show, "India's Got Talent Khoj 2" which was also aired on Colors.
