Pedophile link to Facebook cartoon characters is a hoax Posted: 06 Dec 2010 06:48 AM PST
The Cartoon character profile picture swap on Facebook is being searched in the internet, The rumor is that the Cartoon profile picture swap was invented by a pedophile group in order to have children be more relaxed in accepting unknown friends. Read the original cartoon character report. Another rumor says that Facebook will terminate the account of anyone that continues to use a cartoon character as their profile picture. Both the rumors are hoaxes. Just like the viral-like spread of the cartoon character profile pictures, the rumors of pedophiles invading Facebook with a diabolical plan are continuing to spread. Many variations are seen across the Facebook entries. Hoax-Slayer dispels the rumor that pedophiles are behind the cartoon character Facebook changes: The claims in the warning are false The suggestion that the “cartoon character” profile picture change campaign is a paedophile scheme is utter nonsense. That's Nonsense reports: Summary – the idea of changing your profile picture to a favorite cartoon character (and the later evolution of standing up to child abuse) were harmless enough and do it if you still want to as it certainly has got people talking about the subject. Any spin-off rumour which evolves pedophiles is baseless rubbish designed to cause controversy, just like hundreds of other false rumours involving Facebook pedophiles The Online Journalism Blog confirms the hoax: There doesn't appear to be any truth in the latter rumour. Internet hoax library Snopes has a similar hoax listed, and this seems to be variant of it. Many different groups have been investigating the claims and so far have proven them to be false. Snopes reports a similar rumor as a hoax. There are also reports of people using a registered charity to lure children into their trap. This is also not true. It is not known who started the cartoon character profile swap, but it does appear to be someone's well-intentioned way of bringing awareness of child abuse and violence. Others bloggers have suggested that the emergence of the cartoon craze is due to the older 50+ year-olds that are reaching back to their childhood to recall some of their childhood cartoons. There is no child abuse or child violence group that is involved with the original spread of cartoon profile placement. |
Anil Ambani’s new house already under construction in Mumbai Posted: 06 Dec 2010 02:40 AM PST
After Mukesh Ambani hosted for the house warming of his new 27 storey paradise 'Antillia', brother Anil Ambani has also started constructing his house at Bandra, a suburb in Mumbai. Anil had purchased the 1537 Square meter land in 2003 located in the Tony Pali Hill area. Sources say that, Anil has a permission of constructing up to 66 meters, but Anil wishes to raise the height to at least 150 meters, which is a little shorter than Mukeshe's Antillia, which is 170 meters high. "For most Ambani watchers, it is an obvious conclusion that this has to do with sibling rivalry. But Anil is as entitled to have his own Taj Mahal, " argues columnist Shobha De. Sources also say that, Anil's wish to raise the tower to 150 meters is being opposed by the local residents. He had purchased the land along with a bungalow, which was demolished to give it a brand new start. Meanwhile the 'Antillia' has already become the center of attraction of the city while some critics cannot resist their tongue by calling it a 'vulgar display of wealth'. |

Posted: 06 Dec 2010 01:27 AM PST A contestant in China’s Super Girl, He Jie, contest last year was injured in a car crash yesterday, that required 20 stitches to her forehead. The car accident happened at around 3am on a highway to Beijing from a program assignment she had just completed. Her assistant and publicist were also injured though not seriously. She will lose about 1 million yuan ($25,000) for each cancelled appearance here representative said. Her rep didn’t say anything about "I’m glad she is still alive so we mooch off her for however long." Not too much good news comes at 3am in the morning, now does it? It reminds me of an old fellow who was told by a bank clerk that if he had an ATM card he could get money 24/7, even in the middle of the night. He replied, "Honey, whatever I would want money for at 2am in the morning, I don’t NEED money for at that hour." I hope Super Girl is alright. IPL auctions could be held during World Cup 2011 Posted: 05 Dec 2010 11:51 PM PST There is a good chance that the Indian Premier League auctions for the fourth season could be pushed further to February or even March next year. Earlier, the auctions were to happen on January 8 and 9, but the same looks doubtful now. With the case against Punjab and Rajasthan still pending, there is a good chance that whatever decision the High Court announces will be challenged by one or the other party involved. This means that there can hardly be any doubt that the case will come up for hearing in the next couple of months. This will mean that the BCCI has the option of either allowing the auctions to go as planned, have the two franchises also participate in the same and then have a fresh set of auctions later. Or, the second option is to have the auctions postponed till the results of the court’s decisions. This could mean that the IPL auctions could coincide with the World Cup next year. You can watch all the action in the next year’s IPL here. <script> If you are looking to add cricket scorecard widgets, you can do so from HERE |
Black Day in India: security alerts across many states Posted: 05 Dec 2010 10:15 PM PST
6th of December 1992, was the day when the Mabri Mosque in Ayodhya, India, was demolished by the Hindu activists during a riot. This day is now observed as Black Day in the country, and today is the 18th year after its demolition. Observing the sensitivity of the day several paramilitary forces and police have been deployed in Faizabad and Ayodhya, which are also known as the twin cities of Uttar Pradesh. However, the security has also been tightened in some of the other states like Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. According to sources, the Maoists in Bhubaneshwar will be observing Black day on Monday. The Maoists have also demanded that the ones who had destroyed the mosque, must be punished severely and that the mosque must be built again. On 30th September 2010, a landmark judgment was passed by the Allahabad High Court, that the disputed land would be divided in three equal parts which will be given to Hindu Maha Sabha, Sunni Waqf Board and the Nirmohi Akhara. |
Church is NOT Forever in China’s Olympic Village Posted: 05 Dec 2010 09:26 PM PST
So much for the church being around forever, built on the everlasting truth and all that. Beijing will allow a temporary church to be set up during the 2008 Games for Catholic athletes. All churches in Beijing will be open to Catholic tourists as well. But…what about the Christians…where will they be able to worship?
Food that must be made in accordance with religious beliefs will also be available. China has five major religions – Buddhism, Taoism, Islam, Christianity and Catholicism. Some 60 volunteers will be ready to serve. Do you think religious services should be made available at the Olympic Games? Republished by Blog Post Promoter |
