Dilip Kumar birthday to be celebrated by G.N. Khalsa CollegeMumbai, Dec 9 (IANS) The G.N. Khalsa College here will Saturday celebrate the 88th birthday of veteran actor Dilip Kumar, one of its oldest students.

On Saturday, students will donate 88 bottles of blood. A college hall will be named after the actor, college principal Ajit Singh told IANS.

The actor will not be present at the celebrations. A group of students and teachers will visit the actor's residence to honour him with the title of 'Patron Alumnus'.

"Dilip Sa'ab was very happy with the idea when I told him," Singh added.

Known as the Tragedy King of Bollywood, Dilip Kumar is known for classics like "Devdas", "Madhumati", "Naya Daur" and mangnum opus "Mughal-e-Azam". Later he featured in character roles in "Karma", "Shakti" and "Saudagar".

The Padma Bhushan and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award winner took retirement in 1998. His last release was "Qila". He lives here with his actress wife Saira Banu.

Angelina Jolie wants paparazzi to come under LawLondon, Dec 9 (IANS) Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie wants a law to protect celebrities and their families from unscrupulous photographers.

The 35-year-old star has six children with her partner Brad Pitt and the famous family is a regular target for the paparazzi, reports contactmusic.com.

Jolie admits some snappers scare the youngsters by getting too close, and although she doesn't want to stop the photographers doing their job, she wishes a law was in place to force them to keep their distance and use long lenses to avoid unnerving the children.

"I do think and I do hope that there will at some point be laws about how close they can get to children with cameras. Because I think at some point it's going to be clearer that it's emotionally not healthy. And with long lenses, there's no need," she said.

"You know I'm somebody that I would like there to be a law about the distance they have to children. So I think we work for things like that. Something simple and practical," she added.

Actress Natalie Portman new face of DiorLondon, Dec 10 (IANS) Actress Natalie Portman has been signed as the new face of Dior.



The stunning actress will front all the campaigns for its new fragrance Miss Dior Cherie, reports contactmusic.com.

Parfums Christian Dior chief Claude Martinez called Natalie "charismatic and elegant", and said this is the first time the 29-year-old star has collaborated with a luxury beauty company. Her ads wil be released next year.

The advertisements will see the "Black Swan" star with a hunky young model.

"I felt like a big old cougar. He's, like, 20. The commercial is subliminal advertising for my film," Portman said.

The "All the Lovers" hitmaker crafted a necklace from string and a blue topaz for boyfriend Andres Velencoso last year but now he has lost the chain, she plans to continue making more for him to wear when she is not around, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

"I wanted him to have some jewellery but not ostentatious. I had some string and I plaited it into a web into which I put the stone. He wore it for a while and the stone got lost," she said.

"I will make him another one. And perhaps I will tie it a little bit more securely. And each time I make one, I'll tie it more securely," she added.

Kylie lives in London with Andres.

Pop star Lady Gaga's eight waxworks unveiledLondon, Dec 10 (IANS) Pop star Lady Gaga has become so popular in just in two years that eight of her waxworks have been unveiled at Madame Tussauds museums worldwide.

Museums in London, New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Berlin, Shanghai and Hong Kong - are displaying replicas of the eccentric singer, with each figure donning an iconic outfit made famous by the "Poker Face" hitmaker, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

Edward Fuller, general manager of Madame Tussauds London, said: "The demand to include Lady Gaga has been overwhelming and we are more than happy to oblige.

"It's been quite a challenge to keep details of eight figure launches top secret, but the fans certainly seem to have enjoyed the intrigue. We are delighted to have been able to work with Philip Treacy to ensure the look is spot on and look forward to seeing the other styles at our sister attractions as they go public across the day."

Gaga's first album was "The Fame" and after its rlease in 2008, the singer reached dizzying heights of popularity and has been making headlines ever since.

Kelly Osbourne to re-enter fashion world as designerLondon, Dec 10 (IANS) Reality TV star Kelly Osbourne is set to re-launch herself as a fashion designer and says she's on the verge of signing a deal for her own collection.

Kelly had previously tried her hand at fashion with the rock-inspired range Stiletto Killers, but the line shut down soon after its 2004 debut.

"I've had an offer from an amazing clothing line that I would be so over the moon to work with them. I can't say which one just yet, but it's looking really good," contactmusic.com quoted her as saying.

She assured fans that unlike some other celebrity fashion lines, her creations will be affordable.

"It's important to me not to make clothes which I call 'untouchable' clothing. I don't want it to be clothes that only rich people could buy," she said.
