PatriotApp creates a high-tech snitch network

Posted: 15 Dec 2010 02:24 AM PST

PatriotApp is an iPhone App that instantly turns an iPhone user a high-tech super-snitch. This App allows you to help fight terrorism by giving you a super-sized toolbox at your fingertips.

Mobile Whack tells us: This App also links to National Security, suspicious activity, crime reports, government waste, pandemics, whistle blower info and the FBI's most wanted.

If you see someone acting suspiciously, like a person loading dynamite into their garage, you can take a picture or even a movie of them with your iPhone and send it along with your description of the event directly to the FBI.

Although the release of this iPhone App was on September 11, 2010, the 9th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States, interest in this app has just gained traction.

While this may provide a helping hand to Homeland Security, it also has some possibilities of opening up abuse.

If you own an iPhone, you can become the super-nanny of your neighborhood.

If your nosy neighbor notices you burning a log in your fireplace on a "no burn" day, they can record a time/date-stamped video and immediately send it to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

In Panama City, Florida, a person walked to the speaker's stand at the Bay District School Board meeting. He took a spray van and painted a red "V" with a circle around it.

He then revealed his firearm and started talking. Ginger Littleton, a school board member, hit the gunman with her purse. The gunman pushed her to the ground and then started shooting randomly. Police then came into the building and the people attending the meeting came out.

The This Just In blog reports: The incident occurred at the Bay District Schools’ Nelson Building, said Tracy Fidler, assistant to the district’s deputy superintendent.  “There has been an incident and police are on the scene,” she said. “No school board members were injured.”

After police entered the meeting room, a person was removed on a stretcher.

Police would only confirm a shooting had taken place and would not say if the gunman was the one who was shot and taken to the hospital.

There were several reports by bloggers that the gunman actually had blanks in the gun.

Other rumors tell of the police shooting the gunman.
