A Nepali domestic flight crash kills 22 pilgrims Posted: 16 Dec 2010 04:22 AM PST A domestic Nepali airline flight, Tara Air crashed in the woods of eastern Nepal on Wednesday. The flight crash killed all the passengers and the crew members on board. The passengers of the flight had 18 pilgrims, along with the crew which was from Nepal. Sources have said that, the pilgrims are suspected to be Bhutanese, who had claimed themselves as Nepalese in order to avail cheap airfares. The flight took off at 03:05 am and had lost contact afterwards. Later search helicopters were sent to search, but had failed due to the bad weather. On Thursday, when search operations resumed, the crashed plane was found in the woods with bodies of the passengers and the crew spread all over including the pilots Anup Shakya and Sachundra Shrestha. The deadly crash was the second one for Nepal this year. A domestic flight had crashed in the month of August, which had crashed in the Everest and had killed all the 14 people in the flight. |
Priyanka Chopra takes an auto rickshaw to reach press conference Posted: 16 Dec 2010 03:23 AM PST Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra caught an auto rickshaw on Wednesday to attend a press conference. Sources said that, her car had broken down in mid way due to which she caught an auto rickshaw to reach the venue. The organizers of the organizers of the event had also offered to send another car to fetch her, but Priyanka refused and did not want to waste time. The actress did not want to miss the press meet as the it was an initiative to support the girl child. Due to her wise decision Priyanka did not waste time in waiting for another car and reached the venue on time. After she stepped out of the auto, the actress gave the auto rickshaw driver an autograph on his humble request. Priyanka Chopra has many films lined up which include, Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Saat Khoon Maaf', Farhan Akhtar's 'Don 2' and Anurag Basu's 'Barfee'. Priyanka also appeared on television as a host on a reality show. |
Kangana Ranaut turns down lead role in ‘Ragini MMS’ Posted: 16 Dec 2010 02:21 AM PST Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who was approached by Balaji Productions for Ragini MMS, has opted out of the project. Kangana was offered the main role of the movie based on a real incident. Sources have said that, some new comers have been casted for the movie. The shooting is supposed to start by the end of this week and is said to release by March 2011. Sources have also said that, the movie has got some sensuous scenes. “Yes, Ragini MMS has a lot of explicit content. That could be one of the reasons why Kangna turned it down. She would have been ideal for this film, as she is a very strong actress, but it’s okay. There is no animosity between Kangna and Ekta. Balaji is considering Kangna for other forthcoming projects,” a source said. When spoken to Ekta Kapoor about the matter, she said that, Kangana was bit uncomfortable due to the explicit language and content of the movie. However, she also said that, she may do a romantic film with Kangana in near future. |

The reports have warned that this time the Prime Minister and the home minister are on the LTTE hit list. The Prime minister and the Home minister have been warned by the intelligence that, they may be attacked by the Sri Lankan based group, who has their base in Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu has been having many supporters of the group. The terrorist group, which is not much in news these days, is now planning to re-ignite. Some sources had said that, the terrorist group was lacking of members earlier this year. However the group is now planning to announce their return to the world of terror. The Tamil Nadu Director General of Police said that, they have received the message and even without such warnings, they are always prepared to give tight security to all the VVIPs. Pawan Hans helicopter crashes in Chandigarh airport Posted: 16 Dec 2010 01:32 AM PST A Pawan Hans helicopter, which was supposed to take the Industry and Local Government Minister Manoranjan Kalia, crashed immediately after takeoff at the airport in Chandigarh on Thursday. Fortunately, the pilots of the helicopter S P S Brar and M S Brar have just suffered minor injuries. The Punjab minister was to be taken to Mukarian in Hoshiarpur district, when he got the news of the helicopter crash. ‘We were to take off at 10 a.m. As I was heading for the helipad, I got the message that the helicopter caught fire and crashed,’ Kalia said. According to the airport officials the helicopter had caught fire just after it took off and had crashed at the airport. H S Toor, he airport manager said that, the matter is being investigated, but refused to comment anything on the incident. After the incident the firefighters were rushed immediately to extinguish the fire. Sources have said that, the Punjab government had the helicopter on lease and was used to fly the VIPS of the state. |

Here, it is quite significant to observe that the RBI made a cut over SLR to 24% and this will come under effect from 18th December of this year. Also, the Repo rate, the short-term lending rate kept unchanged and stayed at 6.25 per cent. Also, the Reverse Repo rate, the short-term borrowing rate kept unchanged at 5.25 per cent. Cash reverse ratio, the level of deposits that the current commercial banks has to keep with the central bank, is also unchanged and stayed at 6.0 per cent. Market reactions to this development are not much significant currently. Experts are reacting differently with the latest developments and RBI's Credit policy. There are mixed responses are prevailing everywhere. |
