Science Olympiad results 2010 to be announced on 22nd January Posted: 21 Jan 2011 11:17 PM PST The wait is finally over as, the results of the 13 NSO will be declared by the Science Olympiad Foundation on Saturday the 22nd of January. The official website of the NSO has announced that, the results will be announced today. Those looking for the results can refer the official website of the NSO at www.sofworld.org. The next examination of the NSO will be held in November 2011. Further details of the examination are available at the official website. The SOF is an educational as well as a non profit organization. Every year the foundation conducts four competitive examinations across the country namely the National Science Olympiad, International English Olympiad, National Cyber Olympiad and the International Mathematics Olympiad. Karnataka Bandh criticized by home minister Chidambaram Posted: 21 Jan 2011 10:19 PM PST The state of Karnataka on Saturday is observing 'bandh' (closure) called by the BPJ protestors. The closure is observed to protest the decision to prosecute Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa for his involvement in the land scams. Many educational institutions, business firms, transport services, schools remained closed as a precaution. Many commuters were also affected due to the closure in the state. Home Minister P Chidambaram had criticized the act of the BJP protestors and said that, it wasn't the first time that the chief minister of the state was prosecuted. “I am disappointed that BJP has raised the decibel level and has taken to the streets. It is not correct and is totally unacceptable,” the home minister said. According to sources the protestors shouted slogans in Bengaluru and other parts of the state. Meanwhile the Governor has ordered DGP Ajay Kumar Singh to ensure that all safety measures have been taken. Orders also have been given to deal with the anti-social elements throughout the state. |
South Africa won 4th ODI by 48 runs against India Posted: 21 Jan 2011 01:17 PM PST South Africa has won the 4th ODI played between India and south Africa on the 22nd January by 48 runs (D/L method). South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first and gave good target of 265 to India in 50 overs. Rohit Sharma and Parthiv Patel started Indian innings but in the second over India lost its first wicket in the form of Rohit Sharma. Virat Kohli was the only Indian batsman who stands at crease and scored 87 runs in 92 balls. when score of Indian team was 137/6 in 31.3 overs it started raining heavily and play got stopped. After waiting for sometime match got started again and India got new target of 260 runs in 46 overs to chase but just after 2 balls it started raining again. So, after waiting for some more time umpires declared the result of the match using D/L method and declared that South Africa won the match by 48 runs. SA's JP Duminy was declared as Man of the Match. Both teams have won equal matches in the series by 2-2 victories on there side. Now we have to wait for the 5th and final match of series that will be played on 23rd of Jan 2011. |

Actress Yamuna caught in an act of prostitution in a police raid Posted: 21 Jan 2011 05:05 AM PST South Indian actress Yamuna who has appeared in many Telugu, Tamil and Kannada movies was caught in a deal of prostitution in a seven star hotel in Bengaluru. On Thursday the actress, the CEO of a software company and another man, predicted to be a broker, were arrested during a raid at 8:30pm by the women and narcotics wing of Central Crime Branch. According to the police, they had received information that the actress came in the city in the afternoon, while the CEO arrived at the hotel in the evening. The arrested were taken to the CCB office. After the raid, the joint commissioner of the police Alok Kumar Singh visited the hotel. When enquired with the hotel authorities, the spokesperson of the hotel denied any raids and said that, the police had visited as a VIP party was going on at the hotel. Watch Yamuna Photo Gallery. And the lady to replace the judge is the 'Rangeela' girl, Urmila Matondkar. Sources close to the channel had revealed that, Miss Sherawat threw tantrums at the sets of the show. And this was getting difficult for the producers of the show to manage. Urmila will be entering the show in the gala round. “I don't need to think about anything that happened before I entered or that was done by anyone else. I will bring my own kind of energy to the judges' panel," Urmila said. The actress also added that she cannot be a replacement to anyone. While preparing for the upcoming episodes of the show, the actress has seen all the performances on the video and has made her opinion on the contestants participating.
