Pai, who was the Chairman of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education. It was under the auspices of the JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Courses in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering branches were started first. Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) Belgaum. The institution is governed by the Grant-in-Aid rules of the Government of Karnataka. The college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
