Telangana ‘Bandh’ sees students and protestors spreading violence

Several parts of Hyderabad, India, were thronged by protestors on Monday as the students and lawyers protested in the city. The protestors destroyed a lot of public property which also included a local train.

The students even clashed with the police in many areas in the city. Hundreds of Osmania University students marched towards the Andhra Pradesh assembly to pressurize the house to demand for a separate state.

However, the situation was also bad inside the assembly over the issue as the session had to be adjourned without any transactions. The shops all over the city were forced to shut down by the police.

The government employees have called the 'bandh' (closure) in the Telangana district, to protest against the government. The strike is a non-co operative movement against the government to pressurize them for a separate state. The over all situation in the city seemed like a curfew like situation, with violence and traffic jams.

Car manufacturing giant, Maruti Suzuki, India, on Tuesday launched the diesel variant of its SX4 sedan. Maruti has launched the SX4 sedan at an introductory price, ranging between Rs. 7.74 and 8.62 lakhs.

“The new age diesel technology as offered by SX4 is high on power and performance, while being low on emissions. SX4 diesel offers an economical and punchier ride,” the managing director of Maruti Suzuki India Shinzo Nakanishi said. The MD also added that the company expects this version of the car to be as successful as the other diesel variants with the Maruti Suzuki tags.

The SX4 sedan gives an average of 21.5 km per liter, which is proves itself as a fuel efficient car. The diesel variant of the car is available in two versions, VDI and ZDI.

The sedan comes with a unique feature of an 'on-board diagnostic system’, which detects the emission levels in the emission control system. Apart from petrol and diesel variants the SX4 is also available in CNG variant.

GTU 3rd semester BE results declared

The results of the Bachelor of Engineering (BE) 3rd semester, regular and remedial exam have been declared by the Gujarat Technological University (GTU) Ahmedabad in the state of Gujarat, India. The results have been announced on Tuesday, 22nd of February 2011.

Candidates can check their results on the official website of the university at http://www.gtu.ac.in/

For accessing the results, the candidates have to enter their respective roll numbers or seat number in the given box, in the website and have to click on the 'search' button.

The Gujarat Technological University has been established by an act of Gujarat Legislature in 2007. According to the act, the university has been given the responsibility to establish institutes and centers for research.

The university provides courses in the faculties of engineering, science, technology and management. The GTU provides diploma, degree and certificate courses for the students enrolled in various courses. The overall decisions of the university is supervised and controlled by the higher authorities.

World Cup 2011

South Africa play West Indies in the seventh game of the World Cup 2011. The game will be held at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi and played on February 24, 2011.

This is the first time the two sides will play in this World Cup. Watch Live Score

South Africa has a very strong side in the competition and will look to ensure that they go into the knock-out phase without too many tensions.
