The World Cup opening ceremony will take place at the Bangabandhu Stadium in Dhaka in Bangladesh. The opening ceremony will be held on February 17 and will begin from 5.30 pm India time.

This will be televised live on Star Cricket, but apart from that, the Bangladeshi locals will also be able to watch the pre-show histrionics between 2pm and 6pm local time. Watch Live Streaming.

The star attraction for the night will obviously be Bryan Adams, who will perform his favourite and the crowd's favourite 'Summer of 69' as one of his acts on the stage while there will be side performances from the likes of Sonu Nigam and the other Indian composers, Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy. The 14 captains will be driven on their way out on an auto-rickshaw by the locals.

JIPMER short term course 2011 announced

Admissions in to the Basic Epidemiology short term course have been announced in a notification issued by the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER). The institute is located in the Union Territory, Puducherry in Tamil Nadu.

The course consists of 15 sessions, which will be conducted by the Department of Preventive & Social Medicine (PSM). The five and a half day session will be held from 7th to 12th March 2011.

Interested candidates can download the application forms from the official website of the institute at www.jipmer.edu. Applicants have to fill the application form and have to submit at the Department of PSM, 4th floor, Administrative block, JIPMER, Dhanvantari Nagar, Pondicherry – 605006, along with a DD of Rs 2500 in favor of Short course in Basic Epidemology, JIPMER, payable at Puducherry.
