Box Office Report - Ready rakes in a humongous Rs 40 crores

'Ready' becomes the second biggest opener after 'Dabangg'
It can't get better than this! Ready has become the second biggest Bollywood opener after Dabangg. The movie got off to a flying start on Friday with a nett collection of Rs 13.15 crore and rounded off the weekend with a business of approx Rs 40.65 crore.

Though the critics have slammed the movie, the masses are loving it. The break down for the first three days is as follows: on Friday the collection was Rs 13.15 crore, on Saturday it was approx Rs 12.25 crore, and on Sunday the collections triggered up to Rs 15.25 crore. Whoa! Do we see the distributors laughing their way to the bank? Not yet!

Coming to another winner at BO, it's the small-budget film Pyaar Ka Punchnama. The movie has gained tremendous popularity, thanks to the word-of-mouth publicity. Now, the movie is running at limited multiplexes with less number of shows but its collections are steady. In its second week, Pyaar Ka Punchnama collected approx Rs 3.50 crore. The two-week total is around Rs 9 crore which is good for a film like Pyaar Ka Punchnaama.

It was raining Bollywood celebs at Ganesh Hegde's wedding reception. From Amitabh Bachchan to Shahrukh Khan, from Priyanka Chopra to Shilpa Shetty, you name it, you have it!

The stars were dressed to kill! Shahrukh Khan was looking like a baadshah and was dressed in a formal black suit. He was captured posing with his good friends – Juhi Chawla and Priyanka Chopra. Priyanka was looking elegant in a Manish Malhotra sarree.

Item girl Mallika Sherawat dances like Munni and Sheila


Mallika Sherawat's new item song Shalu Ke Thumke apparently borrows dance steps from Malaika Arora's "Munni" and Katrina Kaif's "Sheila".

Choreographer Ganesh Acharya perhaps wanted Mallika to outshine Munni and Sheila in the song from the upcoming film Bin Bulaye Baarati. For the song has the signature dance moves of the two most popular item songs of 2010.

However, before one can lay the blame of 'copycat' on Ganesh, his defence is that the song spoofs Sheila and Munni. Its lyrics go: "Munni bhi maani aur Sheila bhi maani, Shalu ke thumke ki duniya deewani". Hence, it was necessary to incorporate certain dance steps of Sheila and Munni in Mallika's item song.
