World Music day celebrated across the world on 21st June Posted: 20 Jun 2011 10:54 PM PDT The World Music Day is celebrated every year on the 21st of June. The observation of the day started with the Fete de la Musique, which is a music festival in France that started in the year 1982. Since then the day is observed every year as the World Music Day. Music is like an important part in every human being's life. Some people even believe that music has healing properties. Now days music has become like a good medium to spread the word of peace and happiness. Music has also become a medium of communication and thus it is no more considered as just a means of entertainment. It is also a way to convey future and present messages. Music has proved itself as a messenger and has many times helped to raise funds for the people who have been victims of the natural disasters in the past. For example, Michael Jackson's 'We Are the World' had helped to raise finds for the earthquake that had struck in Haiti and then it was 'Aman Ki Asha' which had helped to create an atmosphere of peace and harmony among India and Pakistan. |
