Google+ has 20 million users already Posted: 22 Jul 2011 11:53 PM PDT The new social networking site Google+ has not yet been open for all, but still has managed to get a reasonable amount of users. Larry Page the CEO of Google confirmed that the site had 10 million users registered by last Thursday. Later the analytics firm the ComScore had estimated that the network has currently, 20 million users. The reports has said that the US, India, Canada, Britain and Germany are the top countries using the network. On the other hand, unofficial Google+ statistician and the founder of Ancentry.com, Paul Allen, said that there are 18 million users on the network, which is based on the surname model. What ever that statistics may be, the new social network has still a long way to go to catch up with the giants like Facebook and Twitter. However, Google+ has proved itself as one of the fastest growing social media even before it has been officially announced. Another analyst firm has opined that the social network now has to keep a track on how much time the user spends on the site. |
Income tax E-filing likely to increase more than 50% Posted: 22 Jul 2011 11:33 PM PDT The E-filing of the income tax has become very common and popular among the filers. There has been an increase in the past few years and even the income tax department has predicted that the paper filing of the tax would soon vanish. With the highly efficient and automated central processing facility in Bangalore, much of the work of the income tax department has been reduced. This is also supposed to help the department to keep a track on the black money and conduct investigations for those who involve in tax frauds. The commissioner of income tax in charge of the Centralized Processing Centre (CPC), Sanjai Kumar Verma has said that out of the 3 crore returmns that were filed in the year 2010-11, 91 lakh were e-filed. Verma has expected that by this year the number would increase by 1.5 to 2 crores. The commissioner also said that this year they expect more than 50% of the returns to be e-filed. |
