Coimbatore youth killed by group amidst crowd Posted: 13 Jul 2011 04:30 AM PDT In an unfortunate incident in Coimbatore in the state of Tamil Nadu in India, a youth was killed in presence of a crowd. The brutal act was recorded by a hidden camera, where a group of four friends had killed the youth. The hidden camera video had helped in the arrest of the criminals. 28 year old Santosh Kumar was beaten to death by his friends near a traffic signal at 2 pm on July 10th . Surprisingly, the people who had witnessed the incident had just watched the man getting beaten up. Kumar was later admitted at the government hospital but could not survive due to his injuries. The recorded video had shown two men in the state of intoxication beating each other and shouting on the road. After they started walking on the road, a bike from the opposite side came and thrashed in to them due to which the driver and the pillion went somersaulting. One of the drunk men then lifted a boulder and smashed it on the biker's face. They had by then ganged up and started beating the helpless man. Meanwhile, the passers by had continued to just watch the madness going on instead of helping the man, who was getting brutally beaten up. Four men have been arrested and have been remanded to judicial custody. |
Boeing 787 Dreamliner lands in New Delhi’s IGI airport Posted: 13 Jul 2011 03:36 AM PDT Aircraft manufacturing giant Boeing's much awaited passenger jet the 787 Dreamliner aircraft has landed in New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport on Wednesday. The new aircraft is reportedly one of the most advanced aircrafts in the world. It will be flying from Japan to India and will be stationed in Japan for two days. The government based airline Air India will be the first airline in India to get the demo trials. Air India will be the first airline in the world to get the modern passenger jet in the fourth quarter of the year 2011. Dinesh Keskar, the president of Boeing India said that Air India will be the first one to get the demo trial in the upcoming week. Keskar added that they would be flying in the 787 from Japan to New Delhi on 13th July 2011. Later the aircraft will be flying to Mumbai on 15th July 2011 and will be kept there for a day. The new Dreamliner is made of composite material, has a newly developed engine and has got advanced flight technologies, which make it highly fuel efficient. The aircraft has the capability to fly 16,000 kms non stop. Air India in a mega deal has booked 27, 787 aircrafts in the year 2006. |
