The results of the Diploma semester exams have been declared by the Gujarat Technological University (GTU). The university has declared the results at the official website on 14th July 2011.

The students who had appeared for the examination can check their results at the official website by clicking here. However, the results page of the official website is not responding due to heavy web traffic.

The candidates are requested to maintain patience and keep checking the official website at regular intervals. The Gujarat Technological University is popularly known as the GTU and was established in the year 2007.

The University is headed by the state government. The Gujarat University was earlier, the prime university in the state of Gujarat, India and had headed all the technical colleges in the state. In order to ensure more efficient and systematic imparting of the technical education, the GTU was formulated by the state government. The GTU also affiliates engineering as well as pharmacy and management colleges in the state.

Sony Ericsson launches W8 Walkman phone with smart phone features

The Walkman brand from Sony is one of the most popular brands in terms of the devices dealing with audio and video playback. The company has now put a foot forward and introduced another Walkman brand smart phone W8.

The company has claimed that the new phone will have walkman functionality along with the basics of a smart phone. When the Walkman series was introduced by the company earlier, it had grabbed a lot of attention from the tech savvy crowd.

But now that it has combined along with the smart phone capabilities, it will provide the user with greater experience. Sony Ericsson has said that the W8 will have a one touch access to most of the applications that are commonly used.

The W8 has a 3.2 mega pixel camera, along with three inch capacitive touchscreen capable with resolutions of HVGA. The connectivity features of the smart phone include WiFi, 3G, Walkman themed UI and widgets and will feature a 600MHz processor. The W8 will have a 128 MB of built-in memory with micro SD cards that can be extended up to 16 GB. The best part is that the phone will be pre-loaded with 2.1 version of (Eclair) Android OS. The Sony Ericsson W8 Walkman phone is currently available in Singapore for S$ 348 and will be available in metallic red, azure and the iconic Walkman orange.

Mumbai terror attacks, three blasts rock city leaving 13 dead and 131 injured

The city of Mumbai was once again rocked by another terror attack. Three blasts in different areas of the city were reported on 13th July 2011. The blasts took place within 12 minutes and left 13 people dead and 131 injured.

P Chidambaram, the Home Minister had visited all the three spots of the blasts that had taken place in Dadar, Zaveri Bazaar and Opera House. The Minister had opined that the blasts that had taken place was a coordinated attack and no intelligence has been involved in it.

Chidambaram had even opined that the perpetrators had worked in a very clandestine manner. According to the initial investigations it was clear that the blasts were not triggered by remote. The investigative agencies have till now not made any assumptions on who might have been responsible for the attack.

Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan had announced compensation for all the blast victims. Five lakhs for each family of the deceased will be given, while the injured would be given Rs. 50,000 each. The National Investigation Agency team has collected forensic evidence from the locations. The experts despite the heavy rain could collect the samples as the evidences could have been washed away due to the rain. The city is calm due to the explosions that had taken place last night.
