 It should be. Everyone says that Burton was born to make this film. But I reckon Alice in Wonderland is more suited to Terry Gilliam. The former Python has a passion for the whimsical, for doggerel, nonsense verse and the phantasmagorical. He's a sentimental surrealist, a romantic anarchist who often places a whoopee cushion beneath the Victorian belief in reason and progress. Burton is more a gothic kind of guy who sees the sunny side of the dark side. Alice's broad appeal has inspired fans from Avril Lavigne to Stella McCartney to create signature pieces as an ode to the iconic tale. Couture styles, charm bracelets, and designer collectibles like tea sets, are just some of the items that have been designed for Disney. "It really helps us reach a whole other consumer, someone with much more discerning or sophisticated tastes," explained Nidia Tatalovich of Disney Consumer Products. Burton's new movie features a 19 year-old Alice who's forgotten all about the Wonderland (or Underland, as Burton rechristens it) of her childhood, preparing for her engagement to a wealthy young lord. Panicking at the moment of truth, Alice flees into the woods, falls down a rabbit hole, and finds herself in a strange world that remembers her, even if she doesn't remember it. A prophetic scroll reveals that Alice is fated to become the savior of Underland, slaying a terrible beast of legend and freeing the land of the Red Queen's tyranny. A little Background: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (commonly shortened to Alice in Wonderland) is an 1865 novel written by English author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll. It tells the story of a girl named Alice who falls down a rabbit hole into a fantasy world populated by peculiar and anthropomorphic creatures. The tale is filled with allusions to Dodgson's friends. The tale plays with logic in ways that have given the story lasting popularity with adults as well as children. It is considered to be one of the most characteristic examples of the "literary nonsense" genre, and its narrative course and structure have been enormously influential, especially in the fantasy genre. The bottom line for this movie is that critics are half and half. Half liked it, half think it lacks something. In rotten tomatoes, it has received a score of 61% which is a bit low from everyone else's expectations. Good or bad reviews, people will still watch this movie. Like the famous quote in the movie "curiouser and curiouser," we all are just as curious on how the movie will go. Looks like the current March opening weekend box-office record of $70.8 million, set by 300 back in 2007 is going to go down and go down big as Disney's Alice in Wonderland could surpass that number on Saturday night with a monster $41 million opening on Friday according to Box-Office Mojo. Just one more film taking advantage of the fact 3D ticket prices turn a film into a box-office juggernaut.  When Depp appeared at the Alice in Wonderland press conference, his presence was very calming but in the back of your mind you knew there was a major star in the room. For someone who's had his kind of career, he manages to come off as humble, sweet, and oddly funny in a way that only Depp can. He discussed his interest in The Mad Hatter as a tragic character, the evolution of his career, and whether or not he'd star in a motion capture film like Avatar. The actor is truly one of a kind and after seeing and hearing to him in person, you can tell his degree of success is a natural progression because he's more than just a pretty face.On Pirates, Johnny said "what we're trying to do is just get a script in order and make sure it's the right thing to do. If we can get a great script it'd be a ball." Meaning…it's not close to moving into production. But when I asked him about "Dark Shadows", I could see the enthusiasm in his eyes as he said, "'Dark Shadows' is happening. Tim is working on 'Alice in Wonderland' which is obviously quite a large piece of work there. So when Tim is done with 'Alice' and we get the script, which is very, very close, in order we'll probably attack it next year. It's exciting, very exciting. It's like a lifelong dream for me. I loved the show when I was a kid. I was obsessed with Barnabas Collins. I have photographs of me holding Barnabas Collins posters when I was five or six. I'm very excited to do it." Johnny Depp may be one of the most desirable men in Hollywood, but he looks far from handsome in his latest film role. In place of his light golden tan and dark brown hair, Depp is unrecognisable with his curly orange hair, pasty skin and pink make-up as she plays the ghoulish-looking Mad Hatter in Tim Burton's upcoming adaptation of Alice In Wonderland. Johnny Depp was so desperate to work with Tim Burton again he has revealed he would have happily played Alice in their new movie.  In a rather surprising casting announcment, Anne Hathaway has joined Tim Burton's currently in-production hybrid reboot of Disney's classic tale Alice in Wonderland. Wait, what?! Additionally, in a rather unsurprising casting announcement, Burton's wife Helena Bonham Carter will also star in the film alongside of Hathaway. We know that beautiful young actress Mia Wasikowska is playing Alice, Johnny Depp is playing the Mad Hatter, and now Hathaway will play the White Queen while Bonham Carter will play the Red Queen. The 25-year-old actress and Helena Bonham Carter has just joined the Tim Burton-directed film Alice in Wonderland, reports THR. (Carter is Burton's longtime partner and have worked together on Sweeney Todd, Corpse Bride, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Big Fish and Planet of the Apes.) Since Anne is known to flex in her diet, it was probably no issue for her to snack on nuts and salad while eating like the White Queen peacemaker. Alice In Wonderland is scheduled for release in March.  Rodney Norvell Stuckey (born April 21, 1986 in Kent, Washington) is an American professional basketball player for the Detroit Pistons of the NBA. CLEVELAND -- Pistons point guard Rodney Stuckey complained of dizziness and collapsed on the bench Friday night -- one year and a few months after a similar dizzy spell. During a time-out at 2:30 of the third quarter of the Pistons' 99-92 loss to the Cavaliers, Stuckey, 23, came off the floor and was talking with Jonas Jerebko. Both players sat down and Stuckey appeared fine. Rodney Stuckey appeared to have a seizure on the court and was carried out of the arena on a stretcher on Friday night. This is obviously a very serious situation and we hope Stuckey is OK. Our guess is Will Bynum will take over at point guard for now. "Whatever happens, happens," Stuckey said. "It's a business." Stuckey learned that lesson when two games into his second season the Pistons shipped Chauncey Billups to the Denver Nuggets for Allen Iverson in what was mostly a business move to clear cap space.
