brandon marshall

Posted: 13 Apr 2010 04:21 PM PDT

Brandon Marshall (born March 23, 1984), nicknamed "The Beast," is an American football wide receiver for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League. He was selected by the Broncos out of the University of Central Florida, with the 119th overall pick in the fourth round of the 2006 NFL Draft.

The phone conversation between Josh McDaniels and Brandon Marshall today has consummated in Marshall finally signing his one year, $2.5 million retricted free gent tender.

This is a necessary step in facilitating a trade that does not require a team to sign him to an offer sheet, thus being required to forfeit their first round pick as was his tenders return compensation.

The Broncos have been adamant in their desire to obtain a first round pick, but so far other teams have been reluctant to fork one over and the Seahawks are not going to meet their most desired asking price.

If you compare Holmes and Marshall, they are similar in many ways. Both are going on age 26, have off-field issues, and are pure No. 1 targets.

Though Marshall's stats turn out to be slightly better then Holmes', the market takes a drastic change.

Unless Seattle pulls the trigger by dealing a first round pick, it may be time for the Broncos to lower their asking price.

Many experts still insist Marshall will be dealt before the draft.

Haleigh Cummings disappeared at age 5

Posted: 13 Apr 2010 04:13 PM PDT

Haleigh Cummings disappeared at age 5 on February 10, 2009, but a new tip more than a year later has reopened the search for her in Putnam County, Florida.

New evidence related to her disappearance might be found along the St. Johns River, according to the tip. The Putnam County Sheriff's Office said they were acting on it but would not elaborate.

Misty Croslin, dating Haleigh's father at the time of the disappearance, said she put Haleigh to bed around 7:30 that night, but when she went to check on her she was gone, according to Fox Orlando.

One of the very few pieces of tabloid news that came out this week concerned Misty Croslin's brother Tommy. He sits in jail facing drug trafficking charges, as does his sister, and Haleigh Cummings father Ronald Cummings. In a carefully worded comment Tommy's attorney suggested that maybe his client was not at the Cummings mobile home on the night that Haleigh disappeared.

Jennifer Knapp publicly announced that she is a lesbian

Posted: 13 Apr 2010 04:10 PM PDT

Jennifer Lynn Knapp (born April 12, 1974 in Chanute, Kansas) is a Dove Award-winning Christian folk rock musician. She is best known for her first hit single "Undo Me" from her debut album Kansas (1998), and the song "A Little More" from her Grammy Award-nominated album Lay It Down (2000). Her last studio release, The Way I Am (2001), was also nominated for a Grammy. In total, the three albums have sold approximately 1 million copies. After taking a 5 year hiatus, Knapp announced on September 18, 2009 that she was returning to music.[citation needed] On April 13, 2010, Knapp publicly announced that she is a lesbian.

No other singer of Knapp's renown in the Christian music genre is openly gay. In the past, the industry looked dimly on those who deviated from the straight and narrow. Radio stations and retailers quickly dropped Sandi Patty and Michael English after they admitted to (separate) extra-marital affairs during the 1990s. Amy Grant was also blacklisted when she went through a divorce later that decade. All have since been forgiven to varying degrees.

Knapp is taking a preemptive stand anyway. She has recorded a mainstream album, and is not specifically targeting Christian radio stations and retailers.

"I just wouldn't find it respectful at all to say, 'Hey, this is something that you want in your store next to your Jesus statue,'" she said. "It would just be disingenuous to try and convince someone that they needed to do that."

Alexa Ray Joel following in her mother Christie Brinkley's

Posted: 13 Apr 2010 04:06 PM PDT

Alexa Ray Joel is following in her mother Christie Brinkley's footsteps--and hair tosses--as the new face of Prell Shampoo, Page Six reports. Joel will appear in print the TV ads and compose the music for the campaign. No photos have leaked yet, so in the meantime, treat yourself to this totally '80s Prell commercial featuring Brinkley.

In a joint statement, Billy Joel and Christie declared those reports to be "false."

And Joel now writes on her

Facebook fan page: "Consider the source." Cook and Brinkley's marriage - her fourth - ended in bitter divorce last year.

Joel, 24, was rushed to St. Vincent's Hospital Dec. 5 after swallowing a handful of homeopathic pain pills. Medical experts said it would be nearly impossible to overdose on the type of meds she took but Joel's worried roommate called 911 for help from their West Village apartment.

Joel told fans she plans to help "young girls with something I feel I know a great deal about: heartbreak-related depression."

WATCH:

The Prell commercial featuring Alexa Ray Joel features Joel lathering her hair and then tossing her lustrous locks in the exact same manner as Christie Brinkley did in a Prell commercial 25 years ago.

However, Alexa Ray Joel also added something from her dad too. She sang a bit of her latest song "Hideaway."

Bidaai 14th April 2010 Star Plus

Posted: 13 Apr 2010 03:55 PM PDT

sapnaa babul ka…. bidaai, started off on the 10th of October, 2007 with many hopes at 9pm on plus. During these 1 1/2 years it has emerged as the top show of television. Earlier it was tuned to 1 hour which made the story very interesting due to the uprising of many twists in the show. However from the past 3 to 4weeks, the story is getting a bit too boring due to over-acting of alekh, and mental disabled man as sometimes he is the smartest man in the world(eg. in judging who is a perfect groom dost for sadhna) and sometimes behaves like a 7 yr old child(in neglecting feelings that sadhna has for him and how bad she will feel if she comes to know this).

Russian Adoption Return

Posted: 13 Apr 2010 11:50 AM PDT

I don't doubt any of that. All children have issues of one kind or another -- some mild, some extremely serious. And there are some that come up more often in adopted children, like attachment issues, than in our children who come to us the "old-fashioned" way. But as I like to say, there are no "give backs" when it comes to children, no matter how they become part of our families.

My husband and I adopted our daughter from China nine years ago (yes, that's her in the photo!). She was 12 months old at the time, and we knew there was a possibility that we would have to deal with attachment or emotional issues because she lived in an orphanage for a year. The orphanage caregivers we met seemed like nice women who genuinely cared about the babies, but there were eight of them and 100 babies to take care of everyday. With that kind of ratio, it's no surprise that some children who come out of that experience have a tough time building trust in their new parents and believing that these new people will love them and care for them and never leave them.

The woman said the boy was drawing pictures of their house burning, and told people he would burn down their house with them in it. But come on, the kid is far away from his country, probably has spent some terrible years in an orphanage, and adoptive parents should help him because now he is their son! But anyway, even the faintest excuse they might have can't be heard if they "shipped" the boy alone back to the orphanage

"Parenting is parenting whether you have kids biologically or whether you adopt them," says Angie Penrose.

Penrose says it bothers her to hear about the Tennessee woman who returned her adopted son to Russia because he was acting out. She says adopted children need to be given a chance to get used to their new home.

Nadia Bloom Is Alive and Founded

Posted: 13 Apr 2010 11:46 AM PDT

Nadia Bloom's family is hailing James King as a hero, after he found the 11-year-old girl in a remote part of a Florida swamp near her suburban Orlando home, four days after she disappeared.

Authorities say they had to use machetes to get to the missing child in the isolated woods and thick brush. Once paramedics reached her they placed her on a stretcher and began carrying the young girl out by passing her from person to person.

Nadia Bloom suffers from an autism-related syndrome called Asperger's. Authorities aren't sure how she survived four days in the alligator infested swamp.

Nadia's parents will have to give thier permission before doctors can talk to the media.

Reportedly, Nadia, who has Asperger's syndrome and attends Lawton Elementary School in Oviedo, Florida, "vanished" while rising her bike on Friday. A massive search was conducted that came up successful when Nadia was found today by a church pastor, covered in mosquito bites, but OK.
As of this writing there's no report that really explains why Nadia Bloom "vanished." But the CBS News account implies that Nadia may have been encouraged to go missing because she was reading a book called Lanie about an "adventurous girl who camps in her back yard."
