| Matt James Future Hero of Notre Dame Falls to a Tragic End Posted: 03 Apr 2010 12:48 PM PDT In a most tragic accident Note Dame recruit Matt James falls off from the third floor of a hotel balcony. Whit Majors, who is chief investigating officer in this case, have confirmed the reason of his death being the fall from a high altitude but at the same he has sent the body for toxicology test. Matt James was basically from Ohio's St. Xavier's high school and was on a spring break in Florida where he met his ultimate at an inn. The news of his death was circulated to his friends and family members through community site like Facebook .A special remembrance gathering has been scheduled for him. He was an offensive lineman and was soon to join the Notre Dame. He was an active player of his school basketball team. Brian Kelly, Notre Dame Coach, who recruited Matt James said, “The Notre Dame football program is in a state of disbelief and incredible sadness with the news of this tragic event. Matt was an extremely talented person who was very bright and possessed a great dry sense of humor. He could not wait to join the Notre Dame family.” His family and close friends are still in a state of shock and remorse. |
| Nenmara Vallangi Vela 2010, Temple Festival of Kerala, Celebration Starts Posted: 03 Apr 2010 05:39 AM PDT  Temple Festival of Kerala Nenmara Vallangi Vela 2010 Nenmara Vallangi Vela is celebrated with great enjoyment in the district of Palkakkad in Kerala, India. Nenmara Vallangi Vela is one of the major festivals of the State Kerala. Have a look how, when and where it is celebrated? Competition over the Best Nenmara and Vallangi are two deshams (areas) of Palakkad and the yearly Vela celebration is held together with the prayer of the Goddess Bhagavathy of the Nellikkulangara Bhagavathy temple. This festival is mostly held in the month of March or April (Meenam), as per the Malayalam Calender. Both Nenmara and Vallangi compete with each other to give their best in the Elephant Pageantry or Temple Orchestras to make the celebrations really miraculous. Traditional Art Forms The celebrations initiates with Kodiyettam which means religious hoisting of the flag at Nellikulangara shrine on the 1st day of the Meenam. On the 9th day, both villages hoist the flag and go to see Kummatti which is traditional art form. Andivela & Karivela, two other traditional art forms are also presented on 18th & 19th day of Nenmara Vallangi Vela. The Vital Day The 20th Day is the vital day of this festival Nenmara Vallangi Vela. Spectacular ceremonies with elephants from the Nenmara and Vallangi villages are taken to Nellikulangara temple which is the main destination. After arriving, both villages face each other at Utsavapandal (festival). In the competitive spirit both villages also perform Panchavadyam and other folk percussion ensembles. After predefined customs, the processions return back to their respective regions with the same enthusiasm as the starting of the day. Amazing fireworks are held at night. The celebrations end after Koora Azhikal which means the down of the festival flags on the 21st day at both villages Nenmara and Vallangi. Thus, this festival Nenmara Vallangi Vela is celebrated with full customs, traditions and vigor by the people of Kerala. |
| Malaysian Grand Prix 2010: Mark Webber Reached Pole Posted: 03 Apr 2010 04:11 AM PDT  Malaysian Grandprix Lewis Hamilton is not seeing his troubles to end soon as he got eliminated for tomorrow's first qualifying session in Malaysian Grand Prix. His elimination will allow him to begin his race from the back of the grid. To his relief he's not the only one suffering as rain spoiled the spirit and caused chaos among the teams. In the eliminated pair joined Fernando and Felipe in Ferrari and Jenson Button also failed to reach to the top 10. Like Ferrari Hamilton missed the chance to grab an early lap. Adding to their misery is rain. The racers were hoping that the rain would stop but instead it got worse keeping the tracks wet. Button said afterwards: “We read it wrong basically. We thought that first rain storm was it and there was nothing else coming so we waited, and it was obviously the wrong thing to do.” Hamilton added: “It was treacherous out there. We were sliding around and aquaplaning everywhere. Of course with hindsight we would have gone out earlier, but hindsight is a wonderful thing …” Mark Webber will start the race in his Red Bull at the pole position, taking alongside Mercedes of Nico Rosberg, and in third Red Bull of Sebastian Vettel will be there. |

A man, Kenny Easterday, 35, has congenital problem that prevented his spine to get develop completely. When Kenny Easterday was only six months old doctors removed his legs and to use his shinbone to whole the incomplete spine. This rare congenital condition is known as sacral agenesis. According to the doctors' prediction children born with such a condition die early but Kenny defies their predictions. “I should be dead now, the doctor gave me until I was 21. I’m 35 now,” says Kenny Easterday. As a kid Kenny disliked wearing his casted legs and preferred using his hands while skateboarding. “My dad pretty much taught me how to walk on my hands,” said Mr Easterday. While speaking in a documentary named "The Man With Half a Body"Kenny's father said: “I just told him to walk behind his mother, because she walks like a duck so just walk like her,” Easterday lives in West Virginia, USA with his two children and wife Nicky after divorcing his first wife Sarah. Kenny feels happy to be father as he always wished to be. |
| Lalgarh Landmine Blast, Doubt Over Maoist, Chidambaram’s Visit Tomorrow Posted: 03 Apr 2010 02:19 AM PDT KOLKATA: Lalgarh today has become the target of a landmine blast which is in West Bengal's West Midnapore district on Saturday as per the police. Police also claimed that there the doubt is over Maoist Guerrillas which triggered the landmine blast. This blast occurred a day ahead of Union Home Minister P Chidambaram's visit to that region. A four feet hollow on the road has been developed after the landmine blast which is occurred in Bamal village, some kilometers away from Lalgarh city. According to TV Channels, there are 3-4 soldiers of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) are founded injured in this landmine blast. Over the injured soldiers, Bhupinder Singh, Chief Police officer told that he had no such news. But Bhupinder Singh told “Raids are on in the area. They (the Maoists) may have triggered the blast.” P Chidambaram is also scheduled to visit the Lalgarh which is near about two hundred kilometers west of the metropolitan area on Sunday to take an inquiry over the operation of joint forces comprising central paramilitary troopers and the Kolkata Police since last June to vacate the people of left wing from the particular region. |

As this controversy is not stopped before this there arises another issue of Bollywood starlet Sayali Bhagat. Sayali too has alleged her connection with Shoaib with whom there was rumors that she had dated earlier. In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Sayali Bhagat revealed her relationship status "I was not dating Shoaib. My first and last association with Shoaib was when we were offered a film together by Wilson Louis. However, the makers could not market the idea of Shoaib Malik as a leading man as he was a Pakistani cricketer. Meanwhile, 26/11 happened and that further ruined the chances of casting him. I live in Mumbai and had lost some of my friends in the Taj tragedy. I was shell-shocked and I mourned for the victims. I understand the sentiments of people and chose to step down and reject that film offer, as I did not want to jeopardise my name and career." When she was asked whether she was close to Shoaib Malik, the Pakistani Cricketer, the actress told "Woh sab film ki marketing strategy thi. You know how the film industry works. Aren't co-stars linked up to make the films a talking point? The production house of the film was successful in getting publicity for the film, but at the end of the day, they still failed to get buyers." When she was asked about on Shoaib's marriage with Ayesha Siddiqui, Sayali told in anger, "Why should I offer an opinion on anybody's decision?
