The Latest Internet Explorer 9 Has Finally Been Unveiled By Microsoft

Posted: 15 Sep 2010 12:51 PM PDT

The latest Internet Explorer 9 has been unveiled by Microsoft, in its Explorer line up. The release was done on Wednesday, and it is a strong move by Microsoft, as it is looking forward to regain its lost momentum in the browser market over the web.

The new browser by the software giant, Microsoft, has come up with the latest tweaks in the system, especially as it will be using hardware acceleration features called the HTML5. This new feature will provide the user with much faster and smoother web browsing, which will feel like one is using an offline application on the computer.

What has now happened in the browser sector of the web, is that the Internet Explorer has lost its hold over its users. New comers like the Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome have destroyed the IE legacy in web browsing. After the launch of the new IE9, Microsoft is looking ahead to recapture its fallen browser market.

Outdoor Urinals Used in China – ‘Relief’ is in Sight

So why does beer go through the body so quickly…because it doesn't need time to change color.

China apparently realizes that better than most. A few beers at lunch…who has time to look for a urinal?

Now, there are outdoor urinals where everything is in full view except the recycling of the beer…er, the whizzing.

At least it's a bit of privacy, a very little bit. I have come across old women squatting on the side of the road in rural Japan doing their business.

How about you? Would you use one of these in a public place if you had to go?

Ryan Grant Out Of For The Season, Brandon Jackson Takes Over

Posted: 15 Sep 2010 06:29 AM PDT

The Green Bay Packers had felt a strong blow after their running back, Ryan Grant suffered a very bad ankle injury which will need surgery. So he will be missing the rest of the season and Brandon Jackson will be replacing him. The absence of Grant is huge blow for the Packers as they feel it will be hard to get an exact replacement for him.

Ryan Grant is suffering from a torn ankle ligament, which will be needing surgery, and this will in fact leave him on crutches for almost 10-12 weeks. He was one of the most important members of the squad and he will be missing the whole season.

Replacing Grant, will be Brandon Johnson, who had been introduced in the team in the second season of 2006, and he really could not help impress the officials of the team. This may also turn out to be one of the most important moments in Brandon’s career, to prove the officials that he is able to do something for the team.

Baseball In China?

Major League Baseball is eating its heart out

The NBA already has 1.3 million Chinese fans cheering for Yao Ming. Now the MLB is hoping to find as many fans for Can-Hit Tu.

MLB officials said they are planning on opening an office in China to explore the possibilites of sending an All-Star Tour to China and to promote America’s favorite past-time. Well, it was a favorite until some 10 strikes ago.MLB.jpg

Beijing’s 2008 Games will host softball and baseball. London’s 2012 Games will not.

Baseball  is hugely popular in Taiwan, Japan and South Korea. Why couldn’t a fourth Asian country come to the park and play also.

China will need more ball parks, sponsors, government support, club support, MLB Player’s Association support (good luck on this one), television interest and, of course, fans to pay ungodly sums to undeserving people.

Still, there is a huge potential for almost everything in China. Why not baseball?

What do you think?

Japan Sells Off Yen In The Market, Intimates Of Doing More

Posted: 15 Sep 2010 04:32 AM PDT

Japan has sold a lot of yen in the market, as a result of which, the strength of the yen has become low. In addition to this Japan has stated that it will be selling of more of the yen, as the currency is rising steadily without any hindrance. This is in turn is scaring away exporters because of the rise in the Japanese currency.

Japan is recently trying to come up from its economic crisis, and it is still fragile, it sees before something worse happens to the economy, selling off the yen will be a wise decision. This is the first time in six years that Japan has intervened in its foreign exchange market, as it had done in 2004, when it flushed out some 35 trillion yen from the market.

According to some of the latest reports, it seems that Japan will be selling off some 300-500 billion yen from the market. The Yen had risen very strong against most of its foreign counterparts and especially the US, as the dollar was on a 15 year low against the yen.

Chinese Children Prefer Japanese Cartoons

Posted: 15 Sep 2010 01:47 AM PDT

At a recent forum on cartoons held in Qingdao, Shandong province it was announced that there are about 500 million cartoon readers in China.

Abt 60% of them are aged 14-17. 30% are over 18 years old. This is usually when Americans stop reading.

I asked a Japanese friend once, "Why do adults in Japan read manga (cartoons)? Aren’t cartoons for kids?"ghost in the shell.jpg

She asked me,"Why do you still eat sweets? Aren’t sweets for kids?"

I got her point.

Chinese children, of course, have preferences.

Only 11% prefer ‘home-made’ cartoons..including those from Hong Kong and Taiwan.

About 29% prefer cartoons from Europe and the United States.

A whopping 60% prefer cartoons/manga/anime from Japan.

Where do get your cartoon fix?
