China Reports Resignation of Tony Blair Posted: 12 Sep 2010 09:30 AM PDT Tony Blair's resignation as Labour Party leader and Prime Minister was reported matter-of-factly by one Chinese online news source. Commenting on Blair's demeanor – more 'relaxed than usual' and at times, 'choked with emotions' the online Chinese newspaper said, Blair would "tender his resignation as prime minister to Queen Elizabeth on June 27." Gordon Brown, Britain's powerful finance minister, is considered the heavy favorite to replace the Tony Blair, who spent just ove 10-years at the helm. Blair's legacy includes his severly waning popularity because of his support for the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq and a recent political scandal regarding giving favored seats to campaign contributors. Blair's announcement also comes the week "Protestant Unionism leader Ian Paisley and Sinn Fein's Martin McGuinness, a former IRA commander, were sworn in as Northern Ireland's power-sharing executive" capping 10 years of Blair's work for peace. Peace here….war there…I guess you can't have it all. What do you think of Tony Blair?

Posted: 12 Sep 2010 05:29 AM PDT Japan still has a business lead in some areas. Gaming is one of them. At the Electronic Entertainment Expo in LA that began this week Sony wowed the audience with a demonstration of PS3 . When I heard how much it cost, even I said, "Wow!" $499 for 20 gigabyte version. For another Ben Franklin you can get 6 more gigabyte. Excelling in the graphics is where Sony wanted to distinguish itself. Japan pays tremendous attention to detail. I am not surprised that the Japanese can do this part better than anyone. But, Sony is not the only company that is vying for the lead in the gaming industry – in this case Sony wants to keep its lead. Another Japanese company, Nintendo and Microsoft are trying to make serious hacks at Sony’s marketshare. Sony Computer Entertainment of America president, Kaz Hirai, demonstrated the confidence he has in Sony products – "We have said many times that the next generation of gaming doesn’t start until we say it has started." Well, tell us….has it started? Or do we need to wait until November when PS3 comes out?
