Is EVERYTHING China and India’s Fault? Including Global Warming? Posted: 29 Oct 2010 07:23 AM PDT I am hanging out in Chicago this week watching a university conference swim championship that my son is participating in. Sorry about that plug for my boy. They put complimentary USA TODAYs outside our room each day. I thought I would enjoy reading about how things are going on in the USA…Grey's Anatomy spin-offs, American Idol was number one and number two this week. (Though I have never even seen one of the episodes. I wonder what I am missing that the rest of the USA thinks is a must see.) Then, I read a short dialog about global warming and sure enough…I finally came across something PanAsian….It's India and China's fault. They are relying too much on fossil fuels and are emitting way too much CO2 into the air. Personally, I think global warming activists are mostly alarmists, the scientists who 'support' them are special interest and need the funding, a big business is making an outright killing by preaching 'the sky is falling.' At any rate, China and India are indeed using up a lot of fossil fuels. Alternative energy sources should be sought out and used. Go, China! For trying to build up its nuclear power reliance….India, too. Global warming…I sure can't feel it here in Chicago and I am absolute certain a bunch of frozen Americans in the midwest and northeast have their doubts. So, who do you think has the most gain in the short term for preaching global warming alarmism? USA TODAY |

China and India Will Power Asian Economy in 2007 Posted: 29 Oct 2010 03:21 AM PDT Asian economies grew this year despite nuclear tests, mass rallies, record oil prices and interest rate hikes. Overall growth this year in Asia will be about 7.7% – more if Japan is added in. It is likely to be more of the same next year: 1. Investors see the fundamentals in Asia as having improved overall 2. Countries have more foreign reserves to meet external payments 3. Socio-political climate in Asia is much more stable now. 4. China will continue to grow at near 10% 5. India will continue to grow at 9% or better 6. Vietnam expects direct investments to hit a record high 7. Hong Kong's GDP will grow by 4-5% 8. Singapore expects a 5+% growth in GDP 9. Taiwan will grow at 4+% 10. South Korea will grow at 4% or better Japan's growth is far behind at maybe 2% but that 2% helps fuel the rest of the region. Asia is growing and Asia is not as dependent now on the U.S. economy as before. Asia can sell and buy among the countries of Asia. |

Siliguri MMS culprit on the run – Siliguri girl kills herself Posted: 29 Oct 2010 12:18 AM PDT A Siliguri MMS of a Siliguri girl in a compromising position that was circulated widely made the girl end her life. The girl took this extreme step on October 27, 2010. She was just 18 years old. The worst part of the complete episode was that the lover of the girl, Anindya Garai himself circulated the MMS. The boy captured the video while he met the girl in her hostel's mess. To the girl's disbelief, the boy just not even circulated the MMS amongst his friends, but also uploaded the video on YouTube for public viewing. The sources claimed that the girl did lodge a complaint with the local police but they failed to take any legal action against the miscreant, then. Now, it is said that the officials are in search of Anindya, who is nowhere to be found. Both the girl as well as her boyfriend belonged to the Siliguri Polytechnic College. The boy was senior to this first year studying girl. |
Creation Worldview – Wisdom from the Good Book Posted: 28 Oct 2010 11:20 PM PDT Christian folk, it seems, like to sit around and talk about things. It saves them the effort of having to get up and go tell other people what it is they believe and why. Quite often, sitting around and talking is done under pretenses of preparing to get out. The end result, never getting out. The Bible calls it, 'always learning but never…' What difference does it make whether or not the world was created? A huge difference. Suppose you wanted a ball real badly. Then one day while you were walking you came upon a ball that had been discarded. Yea! Good! Right? Right. Now, suppose you wanted a ball real badly and one day you came home to find that someone who loved you very much, a parent perhaps, had bought you a present, packaged it up exquisitely and presented it to you. Upon opening it, you found a ball. Not just any ball, but the very ball you wanted, the perfect one for you. Which would you treasure more? The Earth is a ball. The Creator is the giver. The 'ball' is perfect for us. We treasure it and care for it. The environmentalists care for the Earth under the guise of its our home. We must protect it. The believers in Creation care for the Earth because it is a gift to be treasured and we, me included, are stewards. Is the end result the same? Maybe. But, I don't think so. One thing is for sure, why it is we care for our home is different. You might also be interested in: |
