"The body of Rinki Chaudhry, a model and TV anchor, was found hanging from the ceiling fan in the kitchen late Thursday," a police official said. "One of her male friends was with her when she went to the kitchen to get something. When she did not return for long, he broke open the door and found her hanging from the fan," the official added. |
Posted: 29 Oct 2010 04:59 AM PDT Music is oxygen to Bollywood. Any romantic film can't be without its most essential part - music. So when love is in the air, what kind of music it brings in? Break Ke Baad's music director Vishal-Shekhar, who by now are quite expert in creating music for romantic flicks, yet again walk the well-trodden path. But does that make the Break Ke Baad songs not interesting or entertaining? Well, not exactly. Let's find out what happens when Vishal-Shekhar team up with master of words Prasoon Joshi for this Deepika Padukone-Imran Khan starrer. Moving to the album. Its first offering Adhoore Hum Adhoore Tum comes with perky music, trademark of Vishal Shekhar who generally like to keep it light. As guitar takes the forefront and Vishal Dadlani wields the mike, the song gets charged up. Not to forget Alyssa Mendonca who induces sassy flavor to the number. Adhoore Hum Remix is an entertaining, frisky number, just like the remix of a hit number should be. Continuing the same melodious mood, the next offering is Ajab Leher. The song, soused in jazz and a bit of Bollywood pop, makes for a pleasant hearing. Singer Neeraj Sridhar is quite comfortable rendering such songs. Perfect! Dhoop Ke Makan is a thought provoking song with philosophical lyrics like "Dhoop Ke Makan Sa Yeh Safar". Sounds Gulzar-ish, doesn't it! Shekhar Ravijiani croons this song with aplomb. He is joined by the talented Caralissa Monteiro and Sunidhi Chauhan. Indeed a track for a quiet evening getaway or a long drive. The slow Dhoop Ke Makan Acoustic version is an endearing number. Dooriyan Hai Zaroori rocks the album. Monica Dogra and Vishal Dadlani have done a wonderful job with this track. The pulsating beats of the song will instantly strike a chord with the music buffs. The song is guaranteed to impress when comes alive on screen. Expecting a good picturisation of the song! Main Jiyoonga is about the spirit of life. Just like the other tracks, it is zippy as well as peppy. Don't Worry About Me is the English version of Main Jiyoonga with simple lyrics. The song can remind one of situational tracks in Hollywood films. Light rock music of the 80s has clearly influenced the album as most of the songs are not too hard on ears; they are rather soft and fresh in approach. With guitar and drums playing the crucial role, the tracks are pretty successful in wooing us with their melody. |
Abhishek Bachchan ad man Prahlad Kakkar Posted: 29 Oct 2010 04:57 AM PDT At the MAMI film festival in Mumbai, ad man Prahlad Kakkar had got many brows raised with his comment that Abhishek Bachchan's name should be in Guinness Book of World Records. Talking about the nepotism and favouritism in the Hindi film industry, Kakkar had said that sons of Bollywood stars get preference in the industry. He had cited the example of Abhishek, who, he said, had survived in the industry despite as many as 17 flops only because his father Amitabh Bachchan is a superstar. Kakkar's comment obviously didn't go down well with Abhishek, whose name, incidentally, is already in Guinness Book of World Records for making maximum public appearances in 12 hours while promoting Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Delhi 6 in 2009. "I love Prahlad Kakkar, he should be a stand-up comic not an ad-filmmaker. Maybe then someone will take him seriously! This coming from a man who makes commercials with his own son. Hmmm. Oh ya, Prahlad, I'm already in the Guinness book of world records and a very proud son. I hope you give your sons an opportunity to say the same someday," Abhishek wrote on his twitter page. |
Katrina Kaif Become Radha in a film on Lord Krishna Posted: 29 Oct 2010 04:55 AM PDT Bollywood's most gorgeous actress is set to turn Radha in a film on Lord Krishna. Katrina Kaif has agreed to make a guest appearance as the lover of Krishna. Katrina's hairstylist Promila Hunter is set to produce a film titled 'Main Krishna Hoon' to be directed by Rajiv S Ruia who recently made My Friend Ganesha. When Promila asked Katrina if she would make a guest appearance in the film, the actress agreed readily. She did not even inquire about her role. It was later that she came to know that she'll be playing Radha. The movie will primarily focus of Lord Krishna's life, from his childhood pranks to amorous flirtations with gopis. Katrina will have a small role but she's taking it seriously and has started reading relevant books to understand Lord Krishna's story and his relation with Radha. Apparently, Katrina will do this cameo for free. |
Salman Khan returns to 'Dus Ka Dum' With His Own Terms Posted: 29 Oct 2010 04:55 AM PDT Not the one to take a rebuke lying down, Salman Khan has finally made the broadcasters of the television show Dus Ka Dum kowtow to his demands. Now, as the reports allege, Salman is set to return as the game show's host for the third season, which will be go on air only next year. But what's significant is Salman's return to the show, which looked all but beleaguered in the flamboyant host's absence. As was reported earlier, Salman was set to host the third season this year, but the channel did not compromise on Salman's demand for a fee hike. Last year, Salman had deliberately slashed his fee because the channel was reeling with the effects of economic recession. So the actor obviously did not take it kindly that the channel shot down his demand for a fee increment this year. The result was that Salman bowed out of the show. The channel people obviously weren't able to find a replacement for Salman. After all, who can match that charm, that spontaneity and those off-the-cuff wisecracks of Sallu? Reports say that last week, the channel approached Salman again and agreed to do the show on his terms and conditions. Salman, too, did not show any airs and agreed to host the third season. All's well that ends well. |
