Adarsh Society Scam: Antony, Pranab need time to probe

Posted: 31 Oct 2010 11:56 AM PDT

Adarsh Society scam, Pranab Mukherjee, AK Antony

The Adarsh Society land scam is to be probed by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Defence Minister AK Antony who is also the man responsible for party affairs in Maharashtra.

The two member committee is to report to the Congress high-command so that Chavan's decision to resign as he has offered to can be further thought about.

This two member team has been set up by Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and both these politicians are now asking for more time to be allotted for them to report. Mr. Mukherjee said, "I will require more time to go through the papers and therefore it would not be possible for me or Mr Antony to say anything right now."

While the media is splurging with details and highlights every minute on the issue and allegedly claiming the involvement of 3 politicians viz Union heavy industries minister Vilas Deshmukh, Union power minister Sushil kumar Shinde and curent state revenue minister Narayan Rane who have served previously as the chief Ministers of the state and energy minister Ajit Pawar, nephew of NCP boss Sharad Pawar.

All of them have as usual denied the charges and Shinde even accused Media of blowing up the issue.

The media may be intentionally highlighting the issue because of the involvement of such revred figures in state politics but this does not dwarf the fact that the land where the 31-storey apartments is erected is actually the one dedicated and gifted to the war-widows of Kargil and the war-heroes too.

The current chief minister Mr Ashok Chavan has been very busy meeting Congress leaders here and the probe team member Antony is voicing his intention of reporting the issue only after a thorough check with no loopholes being left out.

The latest scam involving some naval and army chiefs too may open a can of worms as its very obvious that a scam of such large a scale cannot be undertaken without the involvement of some big fish.

Pranab Mukherjee and Antony are trying their best to solve the problem at hand by going through every aspect related to the Adarsh Society Scam and are voicing the need of more time to present a detailed report to Mrs Gandhi later.

AP Formation Day: CM Rosaiah appeals to Protestors to be Patient

Posted: 31 Oct 2010 09:02 AM PDT

AP Formation Day

The protesting crowds who are going berserk over Andhra Pradesh formation Day are being appealed by the Chief Minister K.Rosaiah to wait for the Centre to take a decision regarding division of the state.

He has taken offence that the traditional celebrations are being hindered by some impatient people.

According to him the very celebrations of formation of the state of AP are in place since 1956 and the protesting crowd must take democratic steps towards having their demands fulfilled.

The Srikrishna Committee is yet to submit its recommendations for the issue and it's only fair that the protagonists of the movement to get Telangana divided out of Andhra Pradesh wait till the committee comes out with its report.

The AP formation day is set to be celebrated tomorrow and the protestors had every intention of vandalizing the CM residence at Dram Karan road in Ameerpet. The marching and slogan shouting students were taken into preventive custody when they started storming in which led to the CM making statements to appeal to them to have patience as no state can be formed without the Centre's approval.

More arrests were made near the Ministers Quarters in Banjara Hills as the protesting crowds were in full splendor and the tension and slogan shouting was not be missed. Telangana Joint Action Committee and TRS have now announced Nov. 1 as "Betrayal Day" and the public representatives of Telngana region along with the ministers who come from the area are boycotting the AP Formation Day.

The protestors have clearly asked the State Government to abstain from celebrating the Day as AP Formation Day and this year its going to be messy there's no doubt about that.

Action Replayy and Golmaal3 to take away limelight from this weeks’ other Releases

Posted: 31 Oct 2010 05:04 AM PDT

Action Replayy

Nakshatra with a star cast of Shubh Mukherjee, Milind Soman, Anupam Kher had a bad box office experience when it hit theatres last week with the occupation of only five percent seats.

The film did not even court an average outcome and the result was shattering as very few people turned up to watch the movie. This week two flicks hit the big screen namely Maalik Ek and Daayen Ya Bayeen who also suffered a low response at the box office from audience.

The observers of success and failure trends in the film industry state that before Diwali films suffer badly by making reduced profits and sometimes even perform so grimly that their collections at the box office cannot be termed even average.

Observers also state that Big Filmmakers for this reason never come out with their films during this period fearing failure. The three flicks that suffered at the BO this week were small expensed projects with no great star attraction as such. Therefore the failure of these three films is not very surprising during this period.

These three flicks do not have much scope left even during the coming term as Golmaal 3 with a grand star cast of Kareena Kapoor, Ajay Devgan, Tusshar Kapoor, Arshad Warsi and Kumar Khemu is all set to hit big screen on the coming Friday along side Action Replayy starring the duo of Akshaye Kumar and Aishwarya Rai.

The coming week is all packed because of these two biggies that will court a lot of attention from the audience.
