Katy Perry, Russell Brand to get engaged at resort near Ranthambore

Katy Perry, Russell Brand to get engaged at resort near RanthamboreCelebrity couple Katy Perry and Russell Brand have checked in at a resort near the Ranthambore national park in Rajasthan for their engagement ceremony Wednesday, sources say, even as speculation is rife about their wedding venue.

"The celebrity couple are staying in Aman-i-Khas very close to the national park. They have booked all 10 tents in the resort and have also booked a few other tents in the nearby Oberoi Vanyavillas," a hotel source said, adding that the entry of outsiders into the resort had been banned.

If sources are to be believed, American pop singer Katy and British comedian Russel are going to hold an engagement ceremony Wednesday afternoon.

"They have asked for a Hindu priest for the ceremony as they want the engagement to be in true Indian style," the source said.

Aman-i-Khas is in Sawai Madhopur district, over 170 km from here.

"The couple have got bookings in Ranthambore till Oct 22 after which they are to go to Jaipur for a formal wedding," he added.

The couple also plans to enjoy a tiger safari ride inside Ranthambore national park. Ranthambore is known for its tigers and is one of the best places in India to spot these majestic predators in the jungle.

Though Hotel Rambagh Palace in Jaipur is reported to be the venue where the couple are supposed to tie the nuptial knot, so far the hotel authorities have denied that any booking for any wedding has been made by anyone. Moreover, the rooms at the hotel are vacant between Oct 22 and 26.

Aman-i-Khás is a wilderness camp for travellers wishing to experience the stark natural beauty and rural life of Rajasthan.

The property sits on a gentle slope on the fringes of Ranthambore National Park against a backdrop of hills. Native vegetation consisting of tall grasses, scrub and trees surround the camp and a watering hole is situated nearby.

The entrance to the camp is via a pathway that leads through high walls, opening onto breathtaking views of the rocky Aravalli hills that undulate through the national park.

Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra to Star in "Agneepath" remake

Posted: 20 Oct 2010 06:35 AM PDT

Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra to Star in 'Agneepath' remakeIt's official. Karan Johar finally admits it is Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra in the "Agneepath" remake.

Speaking officially for the first time about the casting of the "Agneepath" remake, Karan Johar coolly and cleverly passes on the buck to his novice director Siddharth Malhotra for Abhishek Bachchan's non-presence in the remake...a casting digression that jolted everyone who thought Abhishek was a natural and inevitable inheritor of the "Agneepth" role.

Says Karan: "When my father (late Yash Johar) produced 'Agneepath', he left everything to his director Mukul Anand and kept completely away from the project. I'm carrying on the family tradition."

"The casting for the 'Agneepath' remake was decided by the director Siddharth Malhotra. He decided on Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra. Why Hrithik and not Abhishek? I think Siddharth has his own ideas on how to present the character. I think the protagonist in the new 'Agneepath' would be very different from how he was in the original."

The script for the new "Agneepath" is also entirely revamped. Priyanka Chopra won't play a nurse, like Madhavi had done in the original. And Mithun Chakraborty's character from the original has been done away with completely.

If there was any tension about the Bachchan scion Abhishek not even being approached for the remake of "Agneepath", it was wiped away Wednesday and Thursday last week at the Haute Couture Week where it was crystal-clear that the Bachchans still treated Karan as part of their family.

At Manish Malhotra's fashion show Wednesday night, Abhishek, more baffled than hurt by not even being asked to do the "Agneepath" remake, walked up and warmly hugged Karan. The following evening, Karan coaxed the original "Agneepath" protagonist Amitabh Bachchan to walk the ramp with star of the remake Hrithik Roshan, thereby putting an end to all speculation within the film industry about a strain between the Bachchan parivar and Karan over the "Agneepath" issue.

Says Karan emotionally: "The Bachchans and my family go back a long way. Our association is not on a film-to-film basis. It doesn't matter how many films we work in or don't work in. For the record I will be doing at least 10 more films with Abhishek in my lifetime. He has already done two films with our banner Dharma Productions. He's doing 'Dostana 2' next year."

Hollywood Actress Kristen Stewart offered stripper job

Hollywood Actress Kristen Stewart offered stripper jobHollywood actress Kristen Stewart was stunned when she was offered a job as a stripper while she was researching for her movie role.

The 20-year-old actress visited several lap dancing bars in New Orleans to research for her role in new movie "Welcome to the Rileys" and was astonished when she was offered a job.

"Well, I mean, like, doing this movie...one shocking thing was to find how easy it is to flaunt your sexuality," femalefirst.co.uk quoted her as saying.

"Like, I went to a strip club with the director and the costume designer and it being an odd grouping of people going into a strip club in the middle of the afternoon, I was straight-up offered a job," she said.

Julianne Moore: It took five years to get financing

Posted: 20 Oct 2010 06:16 AM PDT

Julianne Moore: It took five years to get financingIt's not easy to find funding for offbeat films - even if you are Julianne Moore. The Hollywood actress, who has always pushed the envelope, says it took five years to get a financier for "The Kids Are All Right", a family drama that sees her playing a lesbian.

"Because of the subject matter, because of the fact that it was about lesbian couples, it took five years to get financing for the film. It was quite a long journey," Moore told IANS at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival.

The actress is happy with the response to the film and had no apprehensions doing it.

"Lisa Cholodenko is a filmmaker I had admired for such a long time. I met her at a Women in Film luncheon - there were many filmmakers and actors and I approached her because I had loved her work so much.

"I had seen her 'High Art' (1998) and 'Laurel Canyon' (2002) and I loved both, and she said she will write something for me," Moore said. And Cholodenko penned "The Kids Are All Right".

"The movie has been very well received because it is incredibly entertaining and really funny - it's a depiction of a modern ordinary American family. Even if it's two women, it's a portrayal of a marriage. I thought it was an important film because it reflected there are many kinds of families and all of them are very valuable."

Moore, who will turn 50 Dec 3, feels roles don't dry for middle-aged actors - they have to scout for something interesting and challenging.

Asked what was on her wish list next, she told IANS: "I don't know. It's not really easy to wish for things, honestly. You have to look for them because you can think I would to do this, but if it doesn't' exist, you can't make it happen on their own.

"So basically you just read things that come to you. In the process of reading you kind of find what appeals to you. You never know where things will appear and from what kind of filmmaker or from what country, but they do," she said.

She is often described as courageous for doing films like "Far From Heaven", "Chloe" and "Boogie Nights", but the actress said: "You are courageous if you do something you are afraid of. I'm not afraid of acting, so I don't think so..."

Does she leave her film character on sets or take it home?

"It's not hard to drop the characters when you accomplish what you want to. If the scenes are shot the way you wanted to shoot and if you and your director are satisfied, then it makes it easy. The only time it is not easy to extricate yourself is when you feel you have not done what you wanted to do and then you go home and you are angry, sad and you think you want to shoot that again - then you feel wrapped up in the character and the situation," she said.

The actress is happily married to director Bart Freundlich and they have two children. She now indulges in projects that keep her close to them.

"My private life is basically very family- oriented. Now that my children are 8 and 12, it's very important that my work centres on New York city where they go to school. If I do go away, I try to do that summer time when they can travel with me."

Commenting upon the celebrity culture, she said, "It is a kind of relatively new phenomenon - something I didn't see when I was growing up. We live a pretty normal life. I don't feel like a celebrity in my ordinary life."

She collaborated with her husband in projects like "The Myth of Fingerprints" and "World Traveller" and describes her working relationship as "very easy, but what makes it complicated in terms of your private life is that both of you are working at the same time".

So what is the secret of her young looks? She does "yoga twice a week" and "eats well" to keep fit.

"The thing about age is that all you can do is be what you are. I'm lucky to be 50. Not everybody gets to be 50 and that's what we forget. There is tremendous amount of importance in culture placed on ageing, so honestly I feel you have to be in a place where you welcome every year you have, every experience you get."

Tusshar Kapoor: Never felt absence of dialogues in Golmaal

Posted: 20 Oct 2010 06:11 AM PDT

Tusshar Kapoor: Never felt absence of dialogues in GolmaalNot everyone can enjoy doing an entire film without a single dialogue. But Tusshar Kapoor, who has been playing a mute character in the funny "Golmaal" series, says it has never bothered him.

"I never felt that I don't have dialogues in the film. The character is known today because it is mute; otherwise it would have been any other character. It is there throughout the film in most important scenes. So I never felt the need for anything else," Tusshar told IANS in an interview.

Tusshar, who added comic relief to the first instalment of "Golmaal" in 2006 as Lucky, did an extension of the character in the 2008 film "Golmaal Returns", which was again a blockbuster.

Now with the second sequel "Golmaal 3" slated to hit screens Nov 5, the actor will continue with his mute act. The film also stars Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Kunal Khemu, Shreyas Talpade and Arshad Warsi.

So was he always fine with doing a character who wouldn't have dialogues in the film?

"It feels great that my character has been so well received. When initially this role was offered to me, I was sceptical because it was a mute character, but it worked and the risk I took helped in the bargain," revealed Tusshar.

Throwing light on the facet of his character in this part of the film series, the 33-year-old said: "This time around, along with the lovable facet of my character, you will also see a little roughness and inner aggressiveness in the character."

Tusshar also revealed the USP of "Golmaal 3".

"The USP of this film is that it has the USP of the first two films. The emotion-based character comedy of the first and slapstick comedy of the second," he said.

The actor, who has been part of films like "Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai", "Kucch To Hai", "Gayab", "Kyaa Kool Hai Hum", "Shootout at Lokhandwala" and "Life Partner", has always been more into comedies and says he thoroughly enjoys them.

"I really enjoy comedy and I am very comfortable doing it, but that doesn't mean I don't rehearse for it. To get into the skin of the character, that is very important. So I rehearse well, work hard on it, but because I enjoy it, I don't mind going an extra mile," said Tusshar.

In the future, the actor, who is the son of yesteryear actor Jeetendra and brother of TV soap queen Ekta Kapoor, will be seen in films like "Love You Mr.Kalakaar", "Hum, Tum and Shabana", "Shor" and "Run Bhola".

The actress says she feels "self-conscious" when she wears outfits that are too short or tight and likes to don clothes she feels comfortable in, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

"I don't like wearing tight things and I'm self-conscious about clothes that are too short. Doing the red-carpet stuff is intimidating enough, so I'm wearing a lot of Prada, as the clothes are a perfect shape for me, because I'm bottom-heavy," said Mulligan.

"I am not great at having my photo taken, so I often look like I don't want to be there. Staring down the barrel of a camera feels quite unnatural," she added.

Hollywood Actress Halle Berry didn't help MartinezHollywood actress Halle Berry's representative has dismissed speculation about her having helped her rumoured boyfriend Oliver Martinez land a part in "Dark Tide", insisting the French star was chosen because he is "the best actor for the role".

"Olivier was cast because he was the best actor for the role and both Halle and the director agreed. Any speculation beyond that reason is completely false," said the spokesperson.

Doctors against Lindsay Lohan's mom acting as manager

Doctors against Lindsay Lohan's mom acting as managerTroubled actress Lindsay Lohan has apparently been advised by her doctors to remove her mother Dina as her manager.

The "Machete" actress is currently undergoing a rehab treatment programme at the Betty Ford Clinic in Los Angeles and medics have warned her if Dina continues to focus her energies on her daughter's career rather than being a parent to her, Lindsay will find it harder to beat her drug problems.

"Dina needs to no longer act as her manager, or work for her daughter in any capacity. Lindsay needs Dina to simply be her mother. Lindsay's treatment team at Betty Ford has emphasised this to Lindsay, very, very strongly," femalefirst.co.uk quoted a source as saying.

"Lindsay feels the financial burden of taking care of her entire family. It's enormous pressure for any person in their twenties, let alone someone that is battling with addiction. Lindsay and Dina don't have a normal mother-and-daughter dynamic because of the length of time that Dina has worked for Lindsay," the source added.
