The petition sought the deletion of popular songs "Munni Badnaam Hui" from "Dabangg" and "Shiela ki Jawani" from "Tees Maar Khan". Filed by Nutan Thakur, wife of an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, the PIL seeks action against "Dabangg" producer Arbaz Khan and co-producers Malaika Arora Khan and Dhillin Mehta and also its director Abhinav Kashyap, besides "Tees Maar Khan" producers Twinkle Khanna, Ronnie Screwvala and director Farah Khan for violating various provisions of the Indian Cinematography Act of 1952. The petition said both the movies have "several indecent, immoral and vulgar songs, dialogues and visual representations in total violation of sections 3(1), 4, 5(A), 5(C) and 5(E) of the Cinematography Act 1952". The petitioner urged the court to ask the Censor Board and ministry of information and broadcasting to issue directives to the filmmakers and TV channels, audio and video cassette companies etc. not to broadcast promos and songs of the films. Hot Pamela Anderson was shy of nudity Posted: 23 Dec 2010 10:03 PM PST London, Dec 24 (IANS) Actress Pamela Anderson, who is known for baring all both on and off screen without inhibitions recollects how much she cried when she first posed nude for Playboy magazine. The 43-year-old beauty was stunned when the adult publication asked her to bare all for them but she quickly overcame her nerves about stripping off in public, reports femalefirst.co.uk. "I was so confused. I was so shy I was sick. They got the cover in the first roll of film because I was in tears thinking, 'Oh my God, this woman, she touched my breast, this is not for me," she said. "And then, after a while shooting, I became so comfortable they had to stop before I walked out of the studio door nude," she added. |
Matt Damon says Soderbergh to retire soon Posted: 23 Dec 2010 09:56 PM PST London, Dec 24 (IANS) Hollywood star Matt Damon is convinced his director pal Steven Soderbergh is ready to hang his boots in movie business to forge a new career as a painter. The Hollywood actor has worked with the famed moviemaker on a number of projects, including the "Ocean's Eleven" series, "The Informant!", upcoming action thriller "Contagion" and his next on flamboyant pianist Liberace, but Damon believes the 47-year-old director will work on one more production before giving up filmmaking for good, reports contactmusic.com. "He's retiring, he's been talking about it for years and it's getting closer. He wants to paint and he says he's still young enough to have another career. He's kind of exhausted with everything that interested him in terms of form. He's not interested in telling stories. Cinema interested him in terms of form and that's it. He says, 'If I see another over-the-shoulder shot, I'm going to blow my brains out'," said Damon. "After this movie ('Contagion') we're doing 'Liberace' next summer with Michael Douglas, and then he might do one more movie after that with George (Clooney), and then after that he's retiring," he added. |

Katy Perry, Russell Brand hope to start charity Posted: 23 Dec 2010 09:27 PM PST London, Dec 24 (IANS) Singer Katy Perry and her comedian husband Russell Brand want to utilize their fame and fortune to set up a foundation to help the poor and needy. "We have this plan to set up a foundation to help people, feed them, clothe them, give shelter. We don't want to use our fame just to sit on our money on a mountain, we want to do something with it," Perry has been quoted as saying by contactmusic.com. The singer says she is amazed at her husband's transformation from a heroin addict to a top comic in Britain and subsequent move as an actor in the US. "He's so intelligent. So full of wonderful plans. If you really want to know what made me fall in love with him was how amazing he was with people, particularly with children. Russell has changed his life and wants to help other people change theirs. "For all his naughtiness on the surface, underneath he's truly good. My parents adore him. People laugh when I say Russell is a man of God but I'm just waiting for them to see what he does," she said. |
Actress Helen Mirren scared to take career risks Posted: 23 Dec 2010 09:21 PM PST London, Dec 24 (IANS) Veteran actress Helen Mirren thinks she has grown increasingly frightened of taking risks with her career as she has got older. The 65-year-old actress says she has grown increasingly less inclined to take risks with her career because she needs the security that comes with steady work. "I try not to be but, you know, as you get older, you get more frightened," she said. "The realities of life start coming in on you and you realise that you do want security and so on and so forth. So you start working towards that and that's when you start losing your idealism, which is sad," she added. Despite her desire for security, Millen admits she has made unusual choices throughout her career, but always felt she would have the safety of theater work to fall back on. |
Bobby Deol says I am Sunny's third son Posted: 23 Dec 2010 09:14 PM PST New Delhi, Dec 24 (IANS) This family is actually 'yamla pagla deewana' where the youngest son Bobby Deol is still treated as a buddy by dad Dharmendra, while his elder brother Sunny treats him as his third son. "Bhaiya (Sunny Deol) treats me like his son. He looks after me and always says I don't have two sons, I have three sons and you are the third one," Bobby, who will turn 44 in January next year, told IANS. "He is like that. He is very caring. He's very loving. He's like a father and would do everything to keep everybody happy in the house," he added. Sunny, 54, has two sons Karan, 19, and Rajvir, 16, with wife Pooja. As for Dharmendra, Bobby says he is no less than a friend. "In real life, I definitely respect my dad a lot. He is someone who keeps entertaining everyone at home. It's fun being at home with him. He has a great sense of humour and he often comes up with his jokes and makes us laugh." After the success of 2007 "Apne", the trio of Sunny, Bobby and Dharmendra is once again returning to the big screen to tickle the funny bones of the audience as three crazy guys in the aptly titled "Yamla Pagla Deewana". The movie also marks Dharmendra's 50 years in the industry. And Bobby says the film is a celebration of his dad's achievements. Bobby started his career with 1995 "Barsaat" and went on to do films like "Gupt: The Hidden Truth", "Soldier", "Humraaz", "Nanhe Jaisalmer" and "Dostana". Bobby is not a party hopper any more and prefers to spend time with friends and family. "I prefer to stay away from the limelight. I am more of a home boy. I love being at home with my friends and my family. I used to go out a lot earlier, but it is something that drains you out. At this moment, I don't feel like doing those things," he said. "I spend time at home with my kids. Moreover, I live in a joint family where all of us including my chacha (uncle) are together, so I love being at home," he added. While both Sunny and Bobby have made a mark in mainstream cinema, another Deol scion Abhay is making waves in offbeat films with his outstanding performances in movies like "Dev D" and "Oye Lucky Lucky Oye". Bobby is proud of his cousin's success and is looking forward to working with him in future. "I am so proud of him (Abhay), he's doing so well. If he wasn't an actor, he would have been a lawyer because he loves to argue and I seriously can't do that. He has a mind of his own. He is very fixed about his decisions and it has worked for him. He's a great actor who can do romance, comedy, everything," he said. So when could fans see all the four Deols together in a film? "It is difficult to come across scripts that could incorporate all of us. It took so many years for me, dad and bhaiya to come in 'Apne'. To get all four of us together is not easy. We can't take any script and come out with a film. It has to be a script that we enjoy. Definitely in future you would see Abhay and me working together," he said. Bobby is currently busy with two films - Anees Bazmi's "Thank You" and Abbas Mastan's "Players" - and is open to doing offbeat movies. "Every time you do a film, the hangover lingers and you look forward to doing it because you have been through that process. But as an actor you want to do something different. I would love to do an offbeat film if I come across something that suits me and I suit the subject," he said. |
